How does one do this? You can use Uber Orlando or Lyft Orlando to get around for one.

And if you fly into MCO, the Orlando airport, Disney’s Magical Express is happy to do the driving for you! For free, too.

But for those that do travel to Disney World with a car, a whole new fee has been added to your hotel room. You’ll also want to know about parking at Disney theme parks, parking at Disney Springs, and parking at the Disney water parks.

Disney Parking Tips

We often rent a car or drive to Disney World.

With a family of 6, road trips are a way of life around here!

5 tips for road trips with teens and tweens to make your summer travel & vacation smooth!

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when parking at Disney World.

1. Pay Attention To Where You Park.

Disney lots are MASSIVE and it’s so easy to get excited and run to the tram- forgetting your family truckster in the lot behind you.

Don’t do this. You will have regrets.

Take a moment to make sure you know where you parked: take a picture at the end of your row noting that you are in Discovery 23 (or D23 as I like to call it- my happy lane!)

2. If you do forget, remember what time you arrived.

Let your tram driver know the approximate time you arrived at the park and they might be able to drop you off in the general area!

It’s not perfect, but it’s better than wandering the parking lot lost for hours. Ask me how I know…

3. If you are driving a rental car, take a picture of the license plate.

I once wandered the Hollywood Studios parking lot because not only did I forget where I parked, I forgot what my rental car looked like!

And it didn’t have a clicker to open the doors or sound the panic button.

There were a lot of silver Outlanders in the lot that night, let me tell you! Knowing the plate number would have helped narrow things down.

4. Be prepared to fold your strollers.

The trams will require you to fold the strollers before you board, so make sure you are ready to do so when you get to the loading area in the parking lot.

5. Walk in front of the parked cars, not behind them.

When you park, you will need to walk in front of your car towards the tram rather than behind it for safety. Cast Members will remind you of this, but it’s just a safer way for everyone to move in the right direction.

6. Arrive early if possible.

Florida parking lots are hot and nasty places; the earlier you arrive, the closer to the park entrance you’ll be.

Which means the faster you can get out of that asphalt gross smell!

7. Park Hopper peeps: park where you plan to end.

So important: if you want to spend time in Magic Kingdom in the morning and Epcot at night park in the Epcot parking lot.

Utilize the Disney transportation, Uber, or Monorail to get around from park to park. The last thing you want to do is have to backtrack to a park you left long ago to find your car!

Parking at Disney World Water Parks

Complimentary parking is available for all water park guests.

Huzah!

We highly recommend hitting up Typhoon Lagoon when you are at Disney World.

Parking at Disney Springs

Currently, all parking is free at Disney Springs.

There are two large parking garages (Orange Garage and Lime Garage) as well as surface parking.

There is optional valet parking available for $20 at Disney Springs as well.

We are staying at a Disney official hotel, not a Disney resort. I'm trying to find out whether parking at the theme parks is free for Disney official hotel guests. Would appreciate any info you can provide. Thank you!

Hi! I’d check with your hotel directly. I don’t know that any of them offer free theme park parking but I could be wrong!

It's good to hear that there are charging spaces for electric cars at Disney world. Not a fan to hear about the added parking fee for even hotel guests.

My dad rarely forgets where he parks the car, but he did lose the rental at Disney once. Who found it? Me, which I bring up all the time :)
