Balancing Work, Life, And Running
I’ve been doing alright since school started, but this past week I’ve fallen off the rails.
Like, my FitBit keeps sending me messages asking if I’m ok.
What’s going on? Well… everything!
We’ve got fall break with the kids coming up and a trip planned to coincide. The sports season is in high gear for my kids, and I’m finding a hard time cloning myself.
Darn you, Science.
I’ve been trying to get things together for a huge garage sale happening next month, and that’s just sent my house into extreme chaos.
I’m not a crazy neat freak, but I do work better overall when everything is in its place. Right now? Nothing is in its place, and it’s throwing me totally off.
To add to my regular life issues (that I’m admittedly not handling well!), I stepped off a curb last Thursday night on my run.
I did “something” to my foot- the top of my foot. It doesn’t hurt all the time, but it does hurt a bit when I start running on it.
“When in doubt, sit it out,” is the mantra I usually go with when it comes to injuries. But I also might be using this as an excuse.
Ok, I totally am because: time.
And it’s REALLY making me crazy right now. Meaning, my head isn’t clear, and it’s making the rest of the mess I need to deal with feel 1000 times bigger. Who can relate to THAT feeling, right?
Writing all this out made me realize I need to channel Nike. And Just Do It.
My house may not be clean, and my foot might hurt a bit, but my head will be clear and that’s where I need to start.
