Here we go, Princesses! I’m packed, I’m drinking my coffee, and I’m heading to the airport in a few minutes for the runDisney Princess Half Marathon weekend.
You know this is a favorite race weekend, even when it makes me roll my eyes a bit. Why does this race give so much drama? Who knows?! But I’m going to spend four days with twelve of my favorite people at the most magical place on earth- so, drama? What drama?
I’ve got laughs, drinks, and friends to keep me entertained.
Here’s what I put together for the course this year. See you real soon, Princesses!
Princess Half Marathon Costume Reveal
There’s going to be 11 of us doing what we think is a passable VIP Tour Guide costume. Group costumes are a blast!
It turned out to be a fitting costume as we’ll be touring Epcot like, well, tourists this year.
One of our group is undergoing a cancer fight— and she’s not up to her normal speedy ways. So slow and steady is the mantra on Saturday.
If you see us on the course, please yell GO AMY! I know she would LOVE the support.
I didn’t plan to run this one at all. But when you are a Miracle Maker and your friends & family go above and beyond with support, you go ahead and accept the half marathon bib offered last minute.
Lawdy, it’s going to be ugly.
So it won’t be pretty, but kids living their lives in hospitals and fighting all kinds of crap isn’t pretty either. If they and their parents can be brave for all those days, I can suck it up and get through 13.1 miles on the half marathon course.
And of course, it had to be Beauty and the Beast themed.
This IS the month of Beauty and the Beast!
I’m so excited to see all the Belle, Beast, and Gaston costumes you guys are putting together. This is a great theme for running creatives, don’t you think?
Safe travels, my Princess friends.
See you real soon!
