Characters You May Run Into: Walt Disney World Marathon

Sharing is caring!

In response to a request in one of my running groups, I pulled together a list of characters found on the Walt Disney World Marathon course in 2014.

Characters Marathon

The caveat here: I didn’t run this race.  I pieced this list together from fellow runners and their memories.  Thanks to everyone who helped me out!

Based on your speed and your corral placement, you may or may not have had the same experiences.

It’s important to note: these characters may change year to year!  As a veteran Princess Half runner I can attest that *most* of the characters and groupings remain the same.  Buzz is always in Tomorrowland and Woody over in Frontierland for example.

Don’t get upset if your favorite on this list doesn’t show up at your race- I’m sure someone just as magical will be in their place.

This order is loosely based on the order you will find the characters as you race through Walt Disney World’s four parks.

By the way, this is the last race you need to complete to earn all these babies:

Thanks for the pictures, Shannon!

But man- this guy- this guy right here?  He wins everything.  I heard that he played sometimes and entertained the crowd in the corrals with Disney songs.  My hero.

Tuba Guy

Coming next: characters from the Disneyland Half Marathon!

I’d love to hear about your experience!  Who did I miss?  Who can I look forward to in 2015?

That's quite the impressive list of characters! I never really look for one character in particular, they are all great. And by the way I have seen the basketball dribbler in several races and I still think he would be a hazard to the course, don't you? I mean even if he has total control of his balls, anything could happen and it could roll in front of another runner and trip them. Although entertaining I just don't see how these guys are allowed to do that during a race. Ok, sorry for being a Debbie Downer!

You know you run slow when the man holding a tuba passes you...YES, that may have happened to me last year during the Half.... oops!

This post is making me SO excited for marathon weekend in January!!! I can't wait to run through all 4 parks! I have just a few goals for this race - ride Expedition Everest during the race, get a picture with Dopey to commemorate the challenge, and just finish of course! :0)
