A Wrinkle In Time

One of my favorite stories as a girl is coming to life with some of my favorite actresses in key roles. I am not sure my inner 12-year-old can stand to wait until March for this release!

When Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Oprah (YES, OPRAH!) stepped out on stage at the D23 Expo Live Action Panel, I knew this movie would be something special.

D23 EXPO 2017 – Saturday, July 15, 2017 – The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – brings together all the worlds of Disney under one roof for three packed days of presentations, pavilions, experiences, concerts, sneak peeks, shopping, and more. The event, which takes place July 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, provides fans with unprecedented access to Disney films, television, games, theme parks, and celebrities. OPRAH WINFREY, MINDY KALING, REESE WITHERSPOON, CHRIS PINE, STORM REID, AVA DUVERNAY

The trailers and posters released seem to back me up on this!

From Disney Studios:

From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney?s ?A Wrinkle in Time,? an epic adventure based on Madeleine L?Engle?s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space,? examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Meg Murry is a typical middle school student struggling with issues of self-worth who just wants to fit in. The daughter of two world-renowned physicists, she is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is Meg?s younger brother, Charles Wallace, but she has yet to realize it for herself.?Complicating matters is the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Murry, which has left Meg devastated and her mother broken-hearted.?Charles Wallace introduces Meg and her fellow classmate Calvin to three celestial beings (Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who) who have journeyed to Earth to help search for their father, and together they embark on their formidable quest. Travelling via a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering, they are transported to worlds beyond their imagination where they must confront a powerful evil force. To make it back home to Earth, Meg must face the darkness within herself in order to harness the strength necessary to defeat the darkness rapidly enveloping the Universe.

Directed by Oscar? nominee Ava DuVernay from a screenplay by Oscar-winner Jennifer Lee based upon the beloved novel by Madeleine L?Engle, ?A Wrinkle in Time? stars: two-time Academy Award? nominee?Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which, Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Emmy??nominee Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Mrs. Murry, Michael Pe?a as Red and introducing Storm Reid as Meg Murry, with two-time Emmy winner Zach Galifianakis as The Happy Medium and Emmy nominee Chris Pine as Mr. Murry.

Avengers: Infinity War

Guys, this one.

Whoa, hang on, I need a moment.? Deep breaths!

This one is the culmination of the last 10 years of Marvel movies on the big screen. It’s being reported that Infinity War “changes everything in the Marvel Universe” and I’m concerned that this time, the good guys might have some struggles they can’t outrun.

2018 Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Slate is going to be full of family friendly, amazing movies you don't want to miss! Let's see what Pixar, Disney Studios, Marvel and Lucas have to offer in 2018.

This is likely the most anticipated film of the year in my circles, and with good reason. There’s a lot at stake and a lot going on in this movie.

I look forward to April 27 – and also dread it just a little. I mean, if Bearded Cap doesn’t pull through somehow… there will be many a tear shed.

And I’ll have to hold my BFF?LolaLambchops through the sobbing because this is her guy and her film.

NOT planned, but how cute are we?! Love ya, Lola!

She cries real tears when (SPOILER) he dies in Captain America: the First Avenger— every time. True story, this happened in the theater earlier this year when we watched a few Marvel movies together.

Me: Tania, are you crying??

Tania: Yes… (sniffle)

Me: You know, he’s in, like, 3 other movies after this one…?

Tania: But it’s just so sad...?

Awwww… my life with a Captain America lovin’ bestie, folks!

Tania, I’m here for you. But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

As someone who has loved Star Wars her entire life, I know I’ll be in line to see this on opening weekend.

Because who doesn’t love Han Solo? I won’t wait for an answer because I know that everyone loves this guy! Facts.

I’m hopeful that new director Ron Howard (another lifelong fave) can bring this movie the life that a Star Wars film deserves. He has a pretty good track record of great movies, so there’s no reason to doubt him.

Incredibles 2

It’s about dang time, is all I’m going to say here!

That’s a lie. I have more to say about this one.

Mrs. Incredible is my spirit-mom. If I could pick a movie or TV mom to be, Mrs. Incredible is it.

And the first movie was one of those that I grew to love over time with each viewing.

It’s seriously one of my favorite films with so many great one-liners. So I’m anticipating another great Incredibles adventure in June.

Jack-Jack’s superpowers have me in stitches!

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Is there anyone more adorable as Paul Rudd? No, no there is not.

This guy is a favorite of mine (and I’m guessing yours) and we adored him in the original Ant-Man.

The scene in Captain America: Civil War when he meets Captain America? The most relatable moment EVER for me. I laughed so hard over that! Go watch it again if you missed it.

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2

This movie is going to be AWESOME if there’s only one scene in it. I’m not kidding, I will be shelling out all my movie dollars to see this in theaters based on the snippet that was shared at the D23 Expo Animation Panel last summer.

I have never seen something so perfectly and hilariously describe Disney fandom as the scene featuring Vanelope and the Disney Princesses (ALL OF THE DISNEY PRINCESSES Y’ALL!). Totally nailed us.

I wish I had it to share now because GUYS YOU WILL DIE LAUGHING.

AND YES I’M OVER HERE ALL CAPSing BECAUSE IT WAS THAT GOOD.

Put this on your list- if the rest of the movie is a quarter as funny as that Princess clip, you will not be disappointed!

Mary Poppins Returns

This might be my most favorite and anticipated movie of the year.

As a child born in the 70s, raised in the 80s, Mary Poppins was the favorite holiday movie of the week for most of my life. Before VCRs and DVDs and on-Demand, we had to wait for our favorite movies to come on live TV and Mary Poppins was never missed!

The new version promises to carry on my love for the no-nonsense nanny and her chimney sweeping sidekick.

We have both Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel Miranda (swooooooonnnn) in the same movie. That’s all we really need to know, amirite?!

But wait- there’s more! Dick Van Dyke is back.

So, yeah, is it December yet?!
