Race Dreams Are Weird
I don’t know about you, but trying to get a good night’s rest before a race is high on my priority list. Unfortunately, my brain doesn’t always cooperate with that plan.
Last week was a tough one for me. With a first marathon looming, my sleep was not enough.
I try to get those lovely blue lines but this month was full of grey.
When I did get some sleep, it was typically filled with weird dreams.
One dream had me WINNING the marathon. The reason I won was because NO ONE ELSE SHOWED UP. Everyone was staying home in protest to the costume policy change at Walt Disney World.
Apparently I didn’t get that memo.
I woke up laughing about that one.
I had another dream closer to the race that was just disturbing. I woke straight up from a deep sleep and immediately tried to erase the vision from my head. It was one of “those” moments. (Shudder)
Race dreams are weird! I’m happy that the big one is over for me and I can go back to my normal sleep cycle.
