A Grand Stay at the Arizona Grand Resort | On the 10 (Again) Road Series

On the 10 (Again): the Arizona Grand Resort. We traveled up I10 for a weekend. Our Road Trip took us to great pools & the Oasis Water Park of this 4-Star resort. See why we would go back! Large Family Travel | Arizona | Staycation | Family Fun | road trip

Over Memorial Day weekend we took a road trip up the I-10 and landed in Phoenix for the weekend.

A Staycation was just what we needed and thankfully we don’t have to go to far to find it.

The Arizona Grand was suggested to me by a friend who had booked her family that weekend. And then another friend booked there, and another.

In total, we ended up with four families in our Grand Gathering.

We arrived before check in on Saturday.

The room wasn’t ready, but the water park was!

We came prepared with suits, so we headed over there after check-in.?Golf carts were available all weekend long to transport us around this enormous resort.

The Oasis Water Park

What sets the Arizona Grand apart is it’s extensive water park, The Oasis.

The kids spent hours in the lazy river and wave pool.

The slides are pretty intense, and I think the adults got more use out of them than the kids!

Overall, we were pleased with the cleanliness?of the Oasis. Dirty pools are a huge turn-off, amirite? This whole area was remarkably clean.

The staff kept us supplied with delicious food and drinks.

These chicken nachos were huge and a family favorite.?They were also quite pricey at $18.?We decided to eat by the pool on Saturday and split the nachos and other items between the 6 of us.

The Oasis had full service: but it was at a price. Keep that in mind if you decide to stay at the water park all day.

The two Seths were having a Grand time.

We also spent some time in the pool located right by our room. It was pretty much our private pool for most of the stay.

This is where we spent most of the Sunday.

We picked food up from a local restaurant and ate by the pool rather than paying the higher resort prices.

Six kids add?up, you know?

The Hotel Rooms

This is Arizona?s only AAA Four Diamond all-suite resort that features spacious one and two-bedroom suites.

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite as a family of 6.

We paid the upgrade fee (I believe it was $40) for a room guaranteed?close to the water park. Another friend in our party did not and had a room close to the lobby, a far walk away.

Location, location, location!

We thought the extra expense was worth it. We were able to send the kids back to the room for items they forgot or to take a short break easier.

The Resort Amenities

I’m afraid we didn’t personally get farther than the pools!

But a beautiful aspect of this resort is the location. It’s not too far off I-10, and but you’d never know it. Once you are on the grounds, you don’t hear or see the nearby streets or businesses.

It’s also walking distance to South Mountain, which would be fantastic for beautiful morning hikes. We slept in, though. Ha!

You can golf or get your?workout on in the impressive fitness facility. Again, we slept in.

There is also a spa on site with all the services you could want. After a day at the Oasis, a gentle massage would have been lovely!

The verdict: we loved the weekend. We had a relaxing and perfect sized room for our family. We had plenty of room to spread out and not be laying on top of each other. The Oasis is a lot of fun and had plenty for everyone. The A+ staff was excellent and attentive to our needs. Cheers to a relaxing time at the Arizona Grand!
