Best. Day. EVER!! Part III

Sharing is caring!

From my previous meet up stalkingresearch, I knew runDisney pulled all the stops for the attendees. Past meet ups included behind the scenes (actually- behind the screen!) trips to Soarin’, a visit to the Dream Suite, and Joey Fatone.  BTW,  Joey and the Dream Suite might actually tie in my world when asked what would be more awesome to see in person.  (Fangirl, remember?  I do love me some Boy Bands!)

There was no question we were also being given the royal treatment.  The announcement was made that we would be heading down Route 66 for a bathroom break and then… drum roll please… the Ultimate Fast Pass.  I absolutely loved that Bob called it the Ultimate Fast Pass.  Fast Pass is my absolute FAVORITE Disney brainchild, with the Magical Express at WDW a close second.  So getting the opportunity to max out the fast pass potential first thing this morning made this girl really happy.

We were riding Radiator Springs Racers, the hottest ride on either coast, before the park opened.  YES PLEASE!
Love this shot!  Go Stephanie Sander!
Were we all a bit excited?  Um, just a little bit!  Even Sean Astin was excited for the ride- he struck his pose from 50 First Dates for us.  #geekingout

Check out those shoes!
Yes, Tracy Garcia, that IS Sean Astin. Be cool, girl.
When the ride was over we made the trek over to Napa Rose, where a private party was going on inside.  Guess who?s invited?
I’m really getting a big head with all this special attention!

runDisney treated us to breakfast, speakers, and a cooking lesson.
I had a chance to speak with Tara, the Diet Diva, about properly fueling before and just as importantly, after a race.  She is a wealth of knowledge and I encourage any runner with diet questions to chat her up on Twitter or Facebook or the runDisneyblog!

Ali spoke about her pursuit of an active life- and encouraged us to Live Big!  Sean shared the story behind his Twitter movement, #Run3rd.  Both were engaging and moving speakers that had the room captivated.  (Notice how it?s Ali and Sean now- yeah, I?m kinda a big deal like that. First name basis and all? !)

One of the most interesting parts of the meet up for me was the discussion lead by the New Balance Exec, Josh.  He explained how they just didn?t have any idea the power of the Mouse when they created the limited edition Mickey running shoes.  Apparently they only made 1000 pairs.  That?s it.  Um.  Yeaaahhh? about that?. the room Laughed.  Out.  Loud.  Sorry, Josh, silly silly man!  We could have told you that 1000 would simply not be enough when you are talking about runDisney folks!   He explained that more shoes were being rush produced and would be available at Princess Half Marathon in February.  He also gave away a few pairs, which was very cool.

The give-a-ways continued with runDisney roller bags, more New Balance shoes, and other goodies not worth mentioning because I didn?t win anything.   But no worries- I was a winner just being there!

As the event came to an end, Bob remarked that this meet up was the most enthusiastic one they had to date.  Yeah!  Take THAT Joey Fatone!  Goonies never say die!  Ru—ddeeee  Ru—- deeee!

As we left the Napa Rose with memories to last a lifetime, runDisney had one more gift to share:  a free park hopper ticket for each attendee.

To say the day was amazing is just an understatement.  I loved every second of this event and know that the other Tinker Bell Half meet up attendees felt the same!  I knew many of them from online running groups and it was all we could talk about for days.  Heck, here it is over a month later and I am STILL talking about it!

Thanks again, runDisney, for sprinkling Pixie Dust on me!
