Big Hero 6 Opens Today
I was provided complimentary tickets to preview this movie.? I was not compensated in any way for this review and all thoughts are my own.
Big Hero 6 opens today in theaters across the country.? I predict Baymax will be HUGE.
Okay, so that’s not much of a prediction since, well, he IS huge.

But I’m talking about the movie here.
He’s going to steal your heart, I promise.? And your kids will think he’s awesome too.
Big Hero 6 starts with the story of two brothers.? Two very smart and brilliant brothers.
They have a special bond and clearly have each others backs.
When tragedy strikes (insert a lot of teary-eyed sniffles happening here!) little brother Hiro is thrust into a new role: he must save the city of San Fransokyo.? He turns to his new friends, a group of genius level students at the local university, for help.? Each one arrives equipped with their own special talents and fills a role on the newly formed team.
He enlists his buddy, Baymax, as well.

Baymax is big.? He’s fluffy.? And he’s funny, even though he is just a robot.? His creator, Hiro’s brother Tadashi, infused Baymax with a need to help people.? His role is caregiver and helper and he can’t stop until you are “satisfied with your care.”
I’ve adopted this line at bedtime, by the way.? Tuck the kids in, kiss them on the forehead, and inquire if they are “satisfied with their care” today.?? It get’s a chuckle from them most of the time but it opens the door for a quick chat if there was something that bothered the kids that day.?? Just another example of Disney in our everyday!
I asked my kids what they liked the most about this movie.
Seth (7):?? It’s funny!? Baymax is a hero but he made me laugh a lot.? My favorite part is when he calls the cat “Hairy Baby.”
Claire (9):? Baymax is my favorite!? Every time he said something it made me laugh.? He just tried to help people all the time and I liked that a lot about him.? Plus he looked like he would be fun to hug.
Luke (11):? All of it.? It was all good.? I loved the action scenes, especially the parts when they fly over the city together.? That’s really cool.? I also loved how the friends all came together and created a big family.? They had to learn to work together as a team which is important in life.
Big Hero 6 starts off action packed and finishes with a bang too.? In between there’s plenty of time to laugh, to cry (a little- I won’t lie, there’s some tearjerker moments!) and cheer the newly formed team of super heroes.
Not only does the movie start this weekend, but you can also get your own face-to-face encounter with Baymax and Hiro!? Be on the lookout for them at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

Big Hero 6 had it’s inspiration in a Marvel comic by the same name and it’s clear there will be more coming from these teen heroes.
I know my family can’t wait to go back and see it again and will be first in line when more installments come out!
Are you buying popcorn and watching Big Hero 6 this weekend?

There is a program for special needs kids and we got tickets to see this movie through them, unfortunately… it’s not until the 22nd! We are super excited and know the boys will love it! We are just hoping our little ticket in, Dylan, hangs well too!
Awww I hope she does too. It’s fun and has a lot of action and boy humor. Your kids will enjoy!
We’re taking the kids to see it this weekend! We’ve been waiting for this to come out!
They will love it- all of them! Except maybe Addie. 😉
CAn’t wait…purchased tickets today for Sunday Birthday Party….our Daughter’s request, to go see a Pixar Movie with her friends. She says Baymax looks sweet and its good to hear the kids loved it.
Love Baymax!! I think you’re right about it being huge.
