First Look at Disneyland FastPass+
I’ll admit I held my breath as I scrolled through the news.
Please don’t make it complicated. Please don’t make it complicated.
It sounds like the rumors are true: Disneyland FastPass+ is coming.
First Look
Unlike the Walt Disney World version, this FastPass+ will offer same day bookings. Nothing will be available to book in advance.
One FastPass+ at a time may be?booked via the website, the app on your phone, or at kiosks around the park.
When the time expires on your FastPass+, you may book another.
What does that sound like to you?
Sounds a little like the current paper FastPass program to me: just digitalized.?
I’m a fan.
If things remain that simple, then this is nothing but a positive change as far as the FastPass+ system goes. No more darting through the crowds at rope drop to nab your favorite attraction rides right away. No more “FastPass” runner needed to cross the park in order to get the next attraction secured.
Magic Bands
Doesn’t look like it at this point.
It sounds like a barcode system on the back of a card or a barcode on your mobile device.
Just like you can scan your boarding pass at the airport, you’ll be scanning your FastPass+ at the attraction entrance.
Timeline
No word yet as to when this will go into effect, but generally when this kind of information is released, things are moving forward quickly.
We should hear more officially from Disney in the near future.
Tink runners, I don’t think it’s THAT quickly, but maybe by the end of the year we will all be learning this new system. We may be booking our FastPass+ by phone during Avengers weekend! I hope, anyway. (And trust me, that’s me just wishing on a star!)
What do you think about a digitalized FastPass+ at Disneyland?

I’d love to see them put this version of FP+ in Walt Disney World. I think people would like that much better than having to plan their trip 60 days in advance.
This doesn’t sound much different that the Special Needs Guest pass with the exceptions that the SNG times end when the park closes and can only be added at a kiosk – at least this was the way it worked when we were there in January.
