3 Can’t Miss Disneyland Pixar Fest Experiences | #PixarFest
The summer is just getting started- add experiencing Disneyland Pixar Fest in California to your must-do list! You don’t want to miss a thing, but if your time is limited, I’ve got a can’t miss short list for you. Here are 3 can’t miss experiences that the Pixar fan in you needs to have before September 3!
I talk about Disney a lot, so it’s no surprise when people ask me when I think is the best time to go to Disneyland. My answer? ANY TIME! Real talk: I’d never say no to a trip to Disneyland.
What can I say? I live off Pixie Dust!
This week I experienced a few days at Disneyland Pixar Fest as guests of the Disneyland Resort, discovering all that this summer festival celebrating friendship had to offer. It was so much fun and had many new things to offer, so my vote is going to be that NOW is the best time to go to Disneyland; be sure to catch Pixar Fest before it closes on September 3!

3 Can’t Miss Disneyland Pixar Fest Experiences
There is so much going on this summer at Disneyland, that you might want to plan for a few days at the resort to make sure you get it all in. I managed to get two days in and probably needed another to fully experience it, but if you are short on time, I’ve picked a few things that I think really stand out.
Here are 3 can’t miss Disneyland Pixar Fest experiences for a first timer! Grab a friend, throw on your best Edna Mode look and head out to Disneyland before September 3.
1. The Disneyland Pixar Fest Food
ZOMG, so good! I’ve been eyeing this menu since I shared the complete guide to Pixar at Disneyland a?few months ago and really just needed to have these Alien Macarons in my life. Or the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait. And the Pixar Fest Cake. And the Grape Soda Cake Pop.
Okay, so yeah, I had to have it all. But can you blame me?
The answer is YES: they do taste just as good as they look! These 4 were my favorites of all the snacks I tried. Instagram worthy and delicious- I expected nothing less from the Disneyland culinary team!
We also tried a Pineapple Churro (it was like a Dole Whip churro!) and quite a few of the food options at Alien Pizza Planet. It sounds weird, but the Cheeseburger Pizza was — well— weirdly delicious! Give it a try if you are the adventurous sort.
2. The Disneyland Pixar Fest Characters
I love getting pictures with Disneyland characters and the fact that there are special opportunities for the Pixar characters during Pixar Fest just makes me extra happy! Check the Disneyland App for times and locations and you won’t miss out on your favorite Pixar characters in the parks.
When we were visiting, we had a chance to jump in with Buzz and Woody at the Pixar Pals section of the park. They aren’t the only pair of friends who meet and greet over here, so stay on the lookout for other opportunities to celebrate friendship. Feel free to ask a Cast Member who will be visiting next as they are happy to share the schedule.
Meet Edna Mode in Disneyland
And while she’s not arrived just yet, you can soon meet Edna Mode in Disneyland! She’s going to be hanging out in the newly updated (and also soon to be opened) Pixar Pier section of the park. I’m taking a guess that she will be in the vicinity of the new Incredicoaster which opens on June 23.
You definitely?don’t want to miss her, dahlings. She’s fabulous!
3. Disneyland Pixar Fest Entertainment
While I’m not normally a parade & shows kind of girl, I make an exception when it comes to the Pixar Fest entertainment offerings. In fact, I made sure to get in an extra day at Disneyland just to make sure I could see both parades and the fireworks!
And they did not disappoint.
If you love Pixar (and really, if you don’t, why are we friends?!) then you’ll absolutely adore the Paint the Night Parade at Disney California Adventure. You also can’t miss the Pixar Play Parade and the Together Forever- A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular fireworks at Disneyland Park.
Paint the Night Parade
The music, the lights, the heavy emphasis on Pixar floats & characters: #SWOON. This is my number 1 absolute favorite Disneyland parade of all time (and I will fight you on this one if needed- don’t test me!).
Make plans to watch this parade as it winds through Disney California Adventure Park.
I suggest hanging out toward the end of the route, right in front of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! because not only do you get a great view, you are also steps away from the best ride at Disneyland when it’s over.
You’ll be singing “When Can We Do This Again” and “Life is a Highway” for hours afterward— and you won’t mind one little bit, either!
There’s an all-new Incredibles float coming to Paint the Night soon. I can’t wait to see it- look for it after the opening of Pixar Pier on June 23rd.
Pixar Play Parade
This parade and the one above switched locations for Disneyland Pixar Fest. Pixar Play Parade is not new; it’s been running through Disney California Adventure for a few years before finding a new home in Disneyland Park.
It also found a few new floats, which made this parade a lot of fun!
Be aware: this parade does have a “splash zone” if you will. A few of the floats squirt water as they pass by, so if you are sitting up front and center, you just might get a little wet. But during the summer, you probably won’t mind much!
Together Forever- A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular
I was completely blown away by this fireworks show at Disneyland Pixar Fest. And I think it was the first time I actually cried during fireworks- that never happens to me!
So bring your tissues and get ready to visit the world of your favorite Pixar friendships. Warning: Toy Story 3, even in fireworks form, will bring out #allthefeels.
And visually, the Coco scenes as well as seeing the Up house fly across the castle had me gasping with delight!
Disneyland is really bringing out all the stops with Pixar this summer. And you know why, right? The Incredibles 2 movie hits theaters on June 15th.
And you need to go ahead and get those movie tickets now– and then, of course, some Disneyland tickets too so you can really do this whole Pixar thing properly!
Incredibles 2 Movie Trailer and Poster
All the Pixar at Disneyland adds to the hype surrounding The Incredibles 2 movie coming out on June 15.
This movie- guys, I just saw it as part of the #Incredibles2Event and it is so much fun! I laughed louder and longer at so many scenes. I just loved it (full review is on the way next week). You need to take the family and go see this one opening weekend- trust me!
