Carrying My Confidence | Mom Monday

I’m a mom and I’m a runner, so there is really no such thing as TMI (too much information)?in my world. I’ve heard it all and probably seen it all. And this is going to be one of those TMI talks.

I like to say that I have a Ph.D. in Mommin’. Add to that fact that I spend a lot of time around runners and, you know we discuss all the things. I’m basically an open book.

No one’s surprised here, right? You guys know that about me.

So here’s my confession for Mom Monday. Running and I are often at odds. We are not in love right now, but I’m trying to find my way back to like.

I don't love running, but trying to like it. Carrying your confidence can be as simple as carrying Cottonelle? flushable wipes with you on your run. Heading into the fall means those long runs have to happen. Every weekend, I get up, I get the clothes on, I grab my bag of essentials, jump in the car and head out to my running trail.

Some days I fight with myself over all the reasons why I shouldn’t go.

Why I “can’t” go.

Why I just don’t want to go.

Reasons- ok, excuses- include knowing just how stinky and sweaty and I end up getting at the end of the run- and worrying about hitting those bathroom stops on the trail. And of course, if those bathrooms will have toilet paper stocked.

Ahem. Sometimes I’ve not been so lucky there. Seriously- who has time to worry about things like that?!

And, hello, 11-miles are due today!

One look in the gym bag helps negate at least one of those concerns. Something important to remember on every run is the?Cottonelle? flushable cleansing cloths. Because a clean bum (and these are for your bum only!) is a happy running bum.

Sadly for me, my public bathrooms aren’t stocked with Cottonelle? with CleanRipple? Texture- which is designed to clean your bum better (than the leading national value brand).

So how do I keep the confidence up on those long runs? ?I carry it with me! Cottonelle? flushable cleansing go in the pocket of my capris or running skirt and are a lifesaver for my fitness goals.

And with the help of CleanRipple? Texture (a proprietary innovation on all Cottonelle??toilet paper and flushable cleansing cloths) I have the confidence to stay clean and go commando.

Oh, hey there, raising your hand in the back- you want to know why you should run commando? Simple: it helps avoid the chafing that happens when wet areas rub together. Trapped fabric rubbing between your thighs or bum doesn’t help either.

Ever chafe around the underwear lines, ladies? OUCH, is the nicest, most mom-like way to put it.

Running Mom tip: leave the undies at home and go commando. It truly helps make those long runs more comfortable.?

It takes a bold confidence to go commando, and Cottonelle? knows it. But once you?ve got it ? it makes all the difference.

That’s right: run with a bare bum (well, no underwear anyway!).

If you are in the Miami area this weekend, check out the?Wanderlust 108 Festival?sponsored by Cottonelle?.?This event is billed as the world’s only mindful triathlon: walk or run a 5K, do some yoga, and embrace a meditation session. I know I’d be down with this event if it were happening near me!

While I’m still struggling to get out the door for my run, at least I know I can do so with the confidence of a clean bum. Going commando may seem like a small victory, but it’s a bunch of small ones that are giving me the confidence to keep going.

Now, about those 11 miles I promised myself… time to get out there and?get it, girl!

  2. I will have to pick up some Cottonelle® flushable cleansing cloths for when I am on the go. I do not run anymore but these will still be handy.

  3. I have heard running commando is more comfortable. Cottonelle® flushable cleansing cloths would be an essential item to have if I did. I just might give it a try.

  5. I am not a runner, but I do take the dog for long walks and live in Florida. We spend a lot of time at amusement parks too. Those cleansing cloths would be particularly nice to have handy on those days.

  6. My Sister is a runner. I will have to ask her if she has tried these yet. I will find out if she has ever tried to run commando.

  7. I think these flushable wipes are great. It’s nice to be able to not have to just throw them out. I wouldn’t go commando though haha.

  8. Confidence makes it possible for us to move mountains. We should gather as many confidence building tools as possible.
