Draw Jaq & Gus To Celebrate Cinderella on Blu-ray
Did you know that Cinderella was recently inducted into the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress? She absolutely was and we were there to say congratulaitons to her. Around here, Cinderella is the princess we love and we’re celebrating 70 years of the movie with two of the cutest little guys, Jaq & Gus! (affiliate links included in this post)
A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes: Cinderella Is In The National Film Registry
Earlier this week, we were invited to the ball- the Cinderella ball at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
The occasion? Celebrating the inclusion of the Walt Disney Studios classic to the National Film Registry.
I took my daughters to a screening of the movie- which I don’t think we’ve ever seen on the big screen before- and it was absolutely wonderful!
After the screening, we watched the delightful presentation, which had Dr. Carla Hayden, 14th Librarian of Congress, present the film’s official certificate that inducted Cinderella into the National Film Registry to Mary Walsh, Managing Director of the Animation Research Library at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Once the official presentation was over, we headed upstairs to the ball!
And there were plenty of surprises for the guests: a small exhibit of Disney Studios archives, plenty of photo opportunities, food, drinks, and of course, a chance to tell Cinderella congratulations in person.
It was absolutely wonderful and my girls and I had a fabulous time checking everything out.
The girls playfully re-enacted the “It’s MY slipper!” scene for me- I think they were serious for 3 seconds before the giggles overtook them!
As someone who loves Cinderella and always has, this was absolutely a special memory to share with my girls. I’m thrilled that this movie has been included into the National Film Registry (along with Bambi, Snow White and others!).

As much fun as that all was, my girls are totally obsessed with Cinderella now!
And who can blame them? The movie is absolutely one of the best and we laughed and smiled throughout the whole screening. This one is coming home with us on Blu-ray for sure. You can order Cinderella on Blu-ray from Amazon now!
