New dads are adorable. They are some of my favorite people because they just can’t seem to get enough of their new little ones! If you have a new dad in your life, check out these easy Father’s Day Gifts for new dads that you can pick up at Walmart (like- TODAY since the big day is tomorrow!). These easy Father’s Day Gifts for the new dad was sponsored by Cheerios. (Affiliate Links Included)
I know I’ve told you this before, but I’m an awful gift giver. This is just not one of my natural talents and pretty much everyone who knows me will agree: I suck. What can you do? You either know how to do it or you don’t.
And I really don’t. So I’ll take any help I can when it comes to letting people in my life know I am thinking about them.
Here’s an easy way to show the new dad in your life how much you love them- and you can pick it up at Walmart today! Because, you know, Father’s Day is tomorrow. Ahem.
Easy Father’s Day Gifts For the New Dad
Father’s Day is just around the corner, y’all! Okay- it’s tomorrow. Heads up if you haven’t rolled out to the store just yet; when dad gets up around noon you might want to be prepared.
Wait- is that just our house? Ha- just kidding. Mr. Shenanigans is spending his Father’s Day weekend at the soccer field coaching Seth’s team. Because that’s what he loves to do as a dad.
Here he was with our oldest, Jacob, when he was a few months old. Awwww… so young!
If you have a new Dad in your life, consider gifting him a box of Cheerios. Yup- Cheerios. Here’s why.
Dads (and kids!) love them. They are almost as much fun to play with as they are to eat.
If you don’t believe me, search out the #CheerioChallenge hashtag on Instagram. (Adorable overload- you’re welcome!)
Here are a few ideas to build a new toolbox as a Father’s Day Gift for the new dad.
Father’s Day Gift New Dad Toolbox
- Cheerios
- Jar foods
- Sippy Cups
- Children’s Ibuprofen
- Coloring books & washable crayons
- Toothbrush & kids toothpaste
- Board books (don’t forget to sign your name with a special note for the Dad & kiddo inside!)
- Write a letter to the Dad & child asking them to open it on the baby’s 18th birthday. Dad’s might need even more tips and suggestions as they send their kids out into the real world as an adult!
- Matching ball caps for Daddy-Baby trips to the park
- Membership to a local Zoo or Children’s Museum. I’m a fan of giving the gift of time together if possible.
And don’t forget this book from Amazon or Walmart! Dad will love watching your little one learn how to manipulate the Cheerios into just the right places.
It’s great for the 6 mo to 1-year-old age range, though #OhLucy still loves to play with her Cheerios when she can!
This is a sweet & perfect first board book that allows counting and fine motor skills for those little fingers. You can find it on Amazon (affiliate).
Storytime and a snack: done!
Watch a Movie This Weekend With the New Dad
When you’ve got a new baby, you spend a lot of time holding that baby. And while you’re holding that baby, why not catch up on a few Marvel movies in order? If Dad hasn’t had the chance to see Avengers: Infinity War, this might be a good weekend to chill in front of the TV, order a few movies off Amazon, and catch up on his favorite superheroes!
And there are a lot of good ones to catch up on! Be sure to check out that list if you need help deciding what order to watch your Avengers movies.
Or send dad to see a movie- there are a few great ones out right now he might love!
Incredibles 2 just opened in theaters yesterday and — it. is. awesome! If Dad is of the millennial age, you know he’s been waiting for this one to drop since he was, like, 12 and saw the first Incredibles in the theaters. Make sure he gets out there this weekend.
Here’s my Incredibles 2 review– spoiler free!
