Epic News From Universal Orlando: Epic Universe Is Coming!
Under the exciting news for Central Florida news category, the answer is: What is Epic Universe, Alex!
A whole new gate is coming to Universal Orlando Resort and the new park is promising its own entertainment district, restaurants, shops, hotels, and of course attractions.
Which translates to roughly 14,000 new jobs in the area.
Universal’s Epic Universe will cover nearly 750 acres of land near the Orange County Convention Center, south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard.
I tell you what, Universal isn’t playing around.
Check out this lowkey petty.
Tom Williams, chairman and CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts, said at the presentation that they don’t want to unveil all their plans for the park just yet because of competition, but “a Universe is bigger than a World.”
Dannnnnggg… But I like it. I love that both of the big theme parks in Orlando are bringing us new and exciting things in direct competition with each other.
As my girl Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek says, when one of us shines, we all shine!
Transportation to Universal’s Epic Universe
How long will it take to get from the current Universal Studios Parks to the Epic Universe?
Williams says about 12 minutes. And if Universal has their way, the new train from South Florida will have a stop at the Orange County Convention Center which will be right next door.
Details as to the theming and potential attractions have not yet been released, but we know Universal knows how to BRING IT when it comes to theme park fun.
It’s going to be Epic- and we can’t wait for it!
