I might be a 41-year-old mom, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m actually?a toddler. ?This happened last night as I was tucking myself into bed.
I need encouragement, hand holding, and a routine to get through my day.
All the days. ?And even with the smallest details.
I’m not a “wing it” type person. ?But give me a list? ?Oh, I can rock the snot out of that list.
There’s satisfaction in crossing things off- even the mundane that you *should* not need a list to remind you.
But: ?toddler here. ?So I need a list. ?And a routine.
When I fall out of the routine, everything falls apart around me.
The start of the school year was great. ?I had my plan in place, my kids in school, and focus was my mantra. ?I was writing everything down, tracking my moves, ?and working the plan. ?Good things were happening: ?I lost some weight, I ran more, I ate better, and I was sleeping like a normal human being should sleep.
Then of course: stuff happens and somewhere I lost my plan.
pffftt…. gone.?
It’s buried under the pile of mail I moved off my desk and onto the floor. ?It might be over in the stack of clothes, shoes, and toys I started collecting for the garage sale. Or tucked under Mount Laundry.
Who knows?
The one place it hasn’t been: on my planner. ?That’s where it belongs, and that’s where the plan needs to live.
I’ve been using an Erin Condren planner for the past two years. ?It has my notes, my schedules, my blog plans, and my daily to-do list.
The one on the right: ?that’s going to be where 2016 gets rocked. ?It just showed up, and I’m wishing I bought the 15-month version so I could start using it now.
I’m messy. ?My life is messy. ?So even my planner is messy.
But I know exactly where everything is inside this book. ?But that only works, you know, if you USE it and write inside the book.
Annnddd… that’s where I’ve been failing.
But today is a new day.
New plan? Write it. ?Do it. ?Work it.
And I’m going to go ahead and add some things to that planner today.
That pile of mail? ?Garage sale stack? ?Mount Laundry?
This kid ain’t messing around. ?All y’all up there? ?You are on notice. ?It’s in the planner, so that means I’m coming for you.
Are you a list person or a wing it type? ?Do you crave routine and structure?
If you’re looking for a new planner for 2016, check out Erin Condren’s line. ?Use my referral and you’ll get $10 off- and I’ll get $10 to use on next year’s book. ?Even better- you’ll get your own code to pass on to friends. ?Winning all around!

I just got an EC for lesson planning (full time student teaching next semester), but I honestly want to get a "personal" one too!
