My Favorite Movies of 2015
There’s nothing we love more than going to the theater to watch a show. ?Pre-kids, my husband and I hit movies two or three times a weekend. ?Then we’d stop by Blockbuster (yes, we are THAT old) and pick up a handful of movies to fill the rest of the week.
Movies were our thing.
With kids came responsibilities, baseball practices, meetings, jobs, blah blah blah… so we don’t see as many films as we used to.
This year we saw quite a few. ?Some together, sometimes in shifts. ?Parenting problems, yo!
Here are my favorite movies of 2015.
Page Contents
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
This shouldn’t surprise anyone. ?It was just what I wanted in the franchise. ?We went back and saw it a second time, and this week there may even be a third showing.
Rey, Poe and Finn: the new generation proves worthy of our fandom.
McFarland USA
I saw this one while on the Disney Dream after a runDisney race weekend. ?To say it was the right place at the right time is an understatement.
I absolutely love this movie and the story behind it. ?It reminded me that my life isn’t hard and that running- even at my slow speed- is a gift.
Who knew cross country running could be so exciting?
Uno, Dos, Tres… MC FARLAND!
Cinderella
So very beautiful and so very sweet.
The costumes. ?My word, how I loved the costumes in this movie!
Inside Out
Quite literally ALL THE FEELS in this one.
The cast and the writing: brilliant. ?The premise is a bit out there, but man, did Pixar hit a home run with this movie.
I laughed, I cried, I cheered. ?I loved.
Bridge of Spies
As a kid my favorite subject in school was history. ?I particularly loved hearing about the rise of Communism in the world (hey, child of the 80s here- this was a big thing back then!) and witnessing the fall of the very symbol of Communism: the Berlin Wall.
So watching a movie from the time frame where the Wall was built? ?Yep, right up my alley.
Plus Tom Hanks and I’m all in. ?Great movie, great story, and great acting.
Ant-Man
I didn’t know I could love Paul Rudd anymore than I already did.
But then he became a super-hero and… swoon.
I’m still quoting the movie months later. ?I do love me some Ant-Man!
