Favorite Race(s) of the Year
Probably not going to surprise anyone, but my favorite races of the year were the runDisney Super Heroes Half Marathon weekend.
I ran the 5K and the 10K— and cheered the entire half marathon.
This made for a perfect trifecta of a race weekend for me.

The 5K
My goal here was the good ol’ character sprint! Run to a character line, take a pic, and run on to the next.
I ended up running by myself for most of it, think Julia would be ahead of me in a line somewhere that I could join up with.
Somehow I ended up way ahead of her!
We met up at one character stop, but other than that, we didn’t see each other until the end of the race.
When I got to Main Street and realized I was really almost done with the race, I admit— I stopped.
I hung out a bit and looked for friends. Since this was the last 5K of the Disneyland races, I wanted to finish with some of the people I love.
And I did.
The last character was Spidey and it was a perfect way to say goodbye to the Disneyland 5K races.
The 10K
This was themed for Thor and I was excited to wrap the Disneyland races up with this theme.
He was the first character I ran as and took a picture with at the inaugural race, so it seemed like a nice way to come full circle.
Plus, I really really REALLY like Thor.
The race itself was hard because I was chasing my faster friends ahead of me, hoping to catch them for a picture with Loki.
Each text update I was making up time, but hoped that line was long enough to hold them in place for me!
It was, and this epicness happened.
I ran the rest of the race with the amazing Julia and we cried our way across the finish line.
See you real soon, Disneyland runDisney!
(I hope!)

I can see why you chose a Disney race. Having it the last one at Disney land makes it even more special.
I love the picture with Loki. I had thought about doing the Super Heroes weekend one year, but naturally I thought I had plenty of time to decide when.
Looks like it was a really fun race weekend! 🙂
You always have such great costumes! Looks like you had a really fun time at both races!
