Four Magical Miles Virtual | Gone For a Run

Virtual runs are always fun for me- they get me motivated to get off the couch and out the door. I’m currently working on the Run the Edge Run the Year 2018 Virtual race challenge. But this shorter race is one that I loved doing because I could do it on my own! Gone for a Run hosted this Four Magical Miles virtual 4 mile race and I had a fun time earning this gorgeous medal. Thanks, Gone for a Run, for continuing to host this great Gone for a Run Virtual Races!?

I’ve run a lot in recent weeks. ?Way more running than I normally do.

And I’m tired! ?Ha!

I will admit: I was afraid these races would lead to me avoiding any unnecessary running for at least a week. Thankfully, I signed up for the Four Magical Miles Virtual 4 Mile Race through Gone For a Run to keep me on the road.

The weeks following all the running-palooza have been odd. ?Physically (as in my legs and feet) I’ve felt great! ?By Wednesday post-marathon, all stiffness was gone. ?By Tuesday post-Star Wars Rebel Challenge I was good to go!

But I’ve just been so. dang. tired.

So I wasn’t sure what I’d get when I finally got outside to run.

This morning I put on the Hokas & the Magical Miles socks and got to business.

By the way- these socks are so comfortable! I have super big calves, and they went all the way up over them to my knees- as advertised. ?And not too tight.

Winning in both comfort and cuteness, Gone for a Run!

I had no time goals in mind; I just wanted to run those 4 miles and zone out for a bit.

But it felt AWESOME.

The weather was perfect for this not too long not too short distance. ?It would have been nice to be able to sport my new gloves, but at just under 50 degrees they weren’t needed. ?I’ll save those for another day!

While I ran, I reflected on my next big race: the Princess Half Marathon. ?It’s just around the corner, y’all, and this 4-miler virtual medal I was earning certainly reminds me of a favorite race weekend.

This year the theme is the Little Mermaid, which I think a lot of Princess runners will have fun with costume wise. ?I know one of my BRFs has already purchased a crab hat to wear for the half. ?Yup. ?A crab hat.

If that won’t make running 13.1 miles amusing, I don’t know what will!

Back to my 4-miler: I chose an out and back route. ?Out to my lake, take a lap around it (hi ducks!), and head back home again.

This was the perfect way to start the day.

And I’m not too upset about earning this new bling, either!

Thanks, Gone For a Run, for the virtual options. ?It’s an extra bonus to the training grind to finish with a special piece of Gone for a Run hardware, isn’t it?
