Home is a big, strong word for me. ?As someone who’s lived in 20 different houses in her life, there is only one place that I can truly call “home.” ?And that is wherever my parents are.

Home is where my momma is baking dessert. ?It’s where my dad is yelling at the television when the games (basketball/football/soccer/golf/etc.) aren’t quite going as he planned. ? It’s where I don’t have to worry about a thing because my parents are still willing to help me be the best mom, mother, and daughter I can be.

I’ve been fortunate to live close to my parents for the past ten years. ?Down the street from them close. ?All that changed this spring when they moved back to Texas.

Queue the waaahhhhhhh.

It’s left me missing those touches of Home (yes, with a capital H!).

While home is where my parents are there are little things that can remind me of home.

The sounds I’m missing from my father? ?My husband and sons have that covered for me through their love of sports.

I’ve witnessed the hard decision to downsize for my grandmothers with bittersweet feelings.
