Goals for 2015
I like having lists.? They keep me accountable and make me feel accomplished when I get to cross something off.
I have a list that I’m working on for my 40th year- and I’ve made some decent progress on it.? I wrote it up last May so I’m giving myself until then to get the full thing accomplished.
Spoiler alert: I already know some of it will NOT happen by May.? See item #1 in fact.? Bah.
Which leads me to focusing in on 2015 goals.
1.? Weight loss is still my number 1 goal for this year.? It’s a matter of health as well as vanity and the fact that all other goals flow from accomplishing this one important task.
In fact, I think I’m going to stop right there.? There’s almost no point in me writing out the other goals I have when they are so linked directly to weight loss.
But in case you are curious, my general list of goals include the typical:? run more, run faster, eat better, get more sleep, blah blah blah.? Pretty much what you’d expect from a mom who loves to participate in half marathons, right?
But really:? #1 is what matters most.? So let’s look at that big #1.
I was on course over the summer and heading into fall, but fell off the band wagon BIG time when September craziness started with the kids back in school.
Discipline is not my strong suit. Give me an excuse- any excuse- to eat ice cream and I’ll take it.? You know, like the fact that it’s 11am on a Thursday.? THAT kind of excuse.
This is where I’m starting.? I have to hold myself accountable to the scale.
I’m kicking off a new Diet Bet in a few weeks that actually will hold my feet to the fire.? I’m big on winning random competitions even when it’s against myself.? When I put money behind it, I’m extra motivated.
Hey- that’s Disney Dollars right there!
I’ll do the 4 week 4% weight loss to kick off the year.? It starts right after the Star Wars weekend and ends right before my Princess Half/Castaway Cay Challenge week.? I think the timing is ideal for a jump start to weight loss.
4% is a decent chunk of weight for me as well.? I can visualize the scale going down already.
Are you ready to join me?? GREAT!? Sign up here.?? The more people we have competing against each other, the better the odds we have of support and winning back our money!
Now, how am I going to win that Diet Bet?? I’m working out the details but I know it will include my Atkins products.? I’ve really enjoyed the taste of these items as well as the lovely downward trend I saw on the scale the week I worked the plan.
Will this be easy?
Will I back slide?? Ha.? Yes.? Yes I will.
I know me too well and I have to be honest with myself.
BUT… I also really, really, REALLY like to cross things off my list.? And that #1 is sitting there staring at me, mocking me, and calling me out.
So it’s time.
2015 is the year of no regrets.? Let’s do this.
What are your goals for 2015?? Is weight loss one of them?
