It’s a great way to enjoy this tradition with fun activities surrounding Groundhog Day.
But what is Groundhog day?
It’s a tradition in the United States and in Canada.
We celebrate on February 2 every year with a special ceremony held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, centered on the emergence of Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog.
It’s based on an old Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from the ground and sees his shadow, we’ll have six more weeks of winter.
On a cloudy day, Phil won’t see his shadow, and we’ll celebrate an early spring.
It’s a fun activity, but it certainly doesn’t hold any truth to it!
