Hello (Fill In the Month Here)

Here’s a funny story.

You know the posts that pop up on the first of the month: “Hello (fill in the month here).” ?They are typically accompanied by a great graphic with those simple words on them.

Like this one:

Hello-August-A-7

30 or 31 days later it happens again.

But in this case, with a lot more color and passion.

People apparently dig on September!

And well, fuggedaboutit, October. ?It just went wild with all these posts.

“I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers” was all over my Facebook feed.

I had to take action. ?I needed to ask all the questions and get all the answers.

What the heck was going on? ?Was this a new thing? ?Was announcing the first of every month- I don’t know- necessary? ?Will the madness ever STOP?!

Well. ?If there’s one thing you can count on Facebook for, it’s to let you know when you are being dumb.

I got an education.

Quote about Octobers by Anne of Green Gables

No, I’ve never read the book. ?(gasp!) ?And I had NO idea that this was a famous quote (or why).

I learned, oh, yes, I learned. ?Two things:

  1. I MUST read the book! Or books? ?And watch the show. ?Shows? ?I don’t know- I’m still unclear on the details. ?I was a Little House on the Prairie girl, and I had no idea there was something similar but according to my friends way, way, WAY better out there.
  2. My friends who live in the same area as the author spoke up. ?They explained just how breathtakingly beautiful Octobers are in their part of the world. ?Where I live in Arizona, we have brown and less brown. ?So I might have to head up north one of these days- in October- to witness this explosion of color.

Okay, so then November 1 rolls around. ?And I see a few people posting about how it’s now time for Christmas songs and decorations (um, sigh, I give up!), but not many “Hello November” posts. ?I figured November isn’t that big of a deal to my Facebook friends, or they all hid me so I wouldn’t comment on the change of the calendar.

But— not so fast! ?What’s this I see on my OWN timehop for today?

novemberOh- SNAP! ?

I’m a trendsetter, it would seem. ?Ha- I kid.

I wasn’t as fancy, but apparently I am part of the problem.

Not that this is really a problem, I just find it, well, a little weird.

But I give. ?Go ahead and spam me on the first of the month; I can take it.

And I’m going to go ahead and just put this right here, where we can all find it in 27 days.

Because you know we’ll need it!

December hello

Do you have a favorite month you look forward to?

  1. December is probably one of my favorites. It means a break from school, Christmas, hopefully finally cool weather (it’s still in the 80’s here), and gorgeous lights!. I appreciate the lack of snow, but I have cute boots I want to wear without sweating!
