Tuesdays on the Run Link Up- every Tuesday we have a new running related topic. Join your favorite running bloggers in linking up each week. Hey, it’s that time again!

Tuesdays on the Run linkup is happening and we want you to join us.

This week the subject is Race Gear: Hoarder or Minimalist?

Do you #buyallthethings or are you good about keeping your gear minimal?

Let us know about it- and link up with?Erika,? Marcia and me for this week?s Tuesdays on the Run.

Confessions of a Race Gear Hoarder

Yep. That’s me. It just… happened.

I have 3 race belts.

A stack of Gels and blocks and waffles for my fueling choices.

I own two light up vests. And a cool new set of light up gloves.

Tuesdays on the Run: race gear hoarder or minimalist? I'm a hoarder. But I love these runlite gloves! They light my way on night runs and make running safe.

Guys, I have no idea how many shoes are in my closet(s) right now. Most of them I run in so there’s a rotation-ish thing going on, but some I could probably go ahead and donate.

I, Shenanigans, am a total race gear hoarder.?

If it’s on sale: I buy it.

If it helps a good cause: yep, bought.

If I might someday need it: I probably picked one up.

It’s a problem, for sure. But I figure everyone has a vice and if mine supports a healthy lifestyle, it’s not all THAT bad is it?

Confessions of a running gear hoarder... I know I'm not alone! Are you a race gear hoarder or minimalist? How do you store your gear? Know when to stop buying running shoes? Here are some confessions from someone who has no idea when to say when...

I know you feel me on this.

I did manage to break the merchandise addiction when I attend races. I may pick up a Tervis or a travel coffee mug, but that’s usually all I buy nowadays. ?Mostly because I realized things were just way out of control.

Ok, so my Visa told me they were. Ahem.

And since I repeat a lot of the same races, I didn’t really “need” all the Princess things. They can add up FAST and even though I don’t consider myself the Princess type, I certainly had a lot of items branding me as such.

Taking the tiara with me on vacation probably wasn’t helping the image, was it?

My Visa should have spoken up a bit sooner.

Where do you lie on this issue? Hoarder or minimalist? And if you are a minimalist, tell me how you do it!

  • I’ve heard that every girl should have a tiara but I think that what every girl needs is more running shoes. Thanks for linking up!

  • Stacey says:

I’m somewhere in the middle…I was a total hoarder when I first started racing but one day I decluttered and probably got rid of too much stuff haha. I now just keep what I really like-and my #1 rule is that the race shirt has to fit me, if not it goes to Goodwill (or my husband).

  • Marcia says:

Yep, right there with you. The worst is when I had some kind of headphones that were obsolete before I even got around to opening them. oops.

  • Lesley says:

I don’t keep shoes beyond a certain point, and my chiro’s office has a bin to donate them. It makes me feel better than throwing them in the dumpster.

  • Kristin says:

I just realized how many race shirts I have in my closet. For me, it’s hard to part with them since I ran the race. I know I’ll never wear some of them again. I guess I either need to repurpose them or just donate them. Well, except for the Princess and Star Wars shirts. Those I’ll never let go.

    • patty says:

Yes- same here! I have SO many runDisney shirts- especially with the challenges, that it’s obscene. But I don’t want to let them go!

  • Jessica S says:

Where can you take a tiara BUT on vacation, right? 🙂 This topic is alternately making me want to go shopping and to go through my stash to find donations – quite the conflict!
