Hey, it’s that time again!
Tuesdays on the Run linkup is happening and we want you to join us.
This week the subject is Race Gear: Hoarder or Minimalist?
Do you #buyallthethings or are you good about keeping your gear minimal?
Confessions of a Race Gear Hoarder
Yep. That’s me. It just… happened.
I have 3 race belts.
A stack of Gels and blocks and waffles for my fueling choices.
I own two light up vests. And a cool new set of light up gloves.
Guys, I have no idea how many shoes are in my closet(s) right now. Most of them I run in so there’s a rotation-ish thing going on, but some I could probably go ahead and donate.
I, Shenanigans, am a total race gear hoarder.?
If it’s on sale: I buy it.
If it helps a good cause: yep, bought.
If I might someday need it: I probably picked one up.
It’s a problem, for sure. But I figure everyone has a vice and if mine supports a healthy lifestyle, it’s not all THAT bad is it?
I know you feel me on this.
I did manage to break the merchandise addiction when I attend races. I may pick up a Tervis or a travel coffee mug, but that’s usually all I buy nowadays. ?Mostly because I realized things were just way out of control.
Ok, so my Visa told me they were. Ahem.
And since I repeat a lot of the same races, I didn’t really “need” all the Princess things. They can add up FAST and even though I don’t consider myself the Princess type, I certainly had a lot of items branding me as such.
Taking the tiara with me on vacation probably wasn’t helping the image, was it?
My Visa should have spoken up a bit sooner.
Where do you lie on this issue? Hoarder or minimalist? And if you are a minimalist, tell me how you do it!
