Holidays at the Disneyland Resort 2016

Everyone can agree that the holidays at the Disneyland Resort is a special time at a special place. It’s something that people plan for all year long and trust me, the planning is worth it!

Disneyland is undergoing it’s holiday transformation right now, with a kick-off date of November 10th.

Here are a few tips for surviving Christmas at Disneyland; I think the second one is the most important to remember for your trip!



What To Expect For the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort 2016

The Festival of Holidays is new for 2016 with heartwarming holiday festivities inspired by cultural traditions from around the world.

Disney California Adventure Park is the place to be where guests will discover 14 kiosks with food and drink.


A daily lineup of entertainment will include nine unique shows including special Disney characters, street parties, cavalcades, music, and dance.

The celebrations include Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas/Navidad and Three Kings Day.

Princess Elena, the first Latina Disney Princess will make her Disneyland Resort debut as part of the Festival of Holidays. She will perform and appear at a character meet and greet.

Disney ¡Viva Navidad! returns with a wonderful finale to celebrate Three Kings Day (Dia de los Reyes). The special festivities for Three Kings Day will run Jan. 5-8, 2017, including music and storytelling in Paradise Garden.


World of Color – Season of Light brings the spirit of the holidays to the favorite nighttime water spectacular, with its 1,200 powerful fountains shooting water as high as 200 feet to help tell the story.

The show’s musical soundtrack features some well-known musical artists performing popular holiday tunes, including“Let it Snow” by Dean Martin and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” by Michael Buble and IdinaMenzel. With classic holiday music, humor and memorable moments from Disney animated films, this is a crowd pleaser!

Mickey Mouse is turning 88! He’s going to be at Disneyland for a special birthday cavalcade on Friday, Nov. 18. Guests and cast members in Disneyland will celebrate Mickey preceding “A Christmas Fantasy” parade.


Holiday overlays for three attractions are on the way: you don’t want to miss these!

it’s a small world, Haunted Mansion, and the Jungle Cruise all undergo special treatments during this season. Be sure to visit each attraction for these unique experiences.
