The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part Parent Review

First off, living up to the original is always a tough gig. Sometimes the jokes or maybe the characters or songs just fall flat.

And if that happened with this movie, I was afraid it would be as painful as crossing my daughter’s LEGO strewn-room barefoot in the middle of the night.

Parents: no worries! This sequel is a legit follow up to the original. I can say that I absolutely enjoyed this one just as much as the first LEGO Movie.

I was afraid that the magic of the original twist ending would get lost in The LEGO Movie 2, but dang, I think it just got even better. From a parenting standpoint, it was almost profound at times.

Mind blown, right?

Great lessons learned for the kiddos and parents will totally recognize themselves in the pivotal “This time I mean it!” scene.

And the songs are fun- you get a lot of Everything Is Awesome, of course, but there’s another one my kids have been singing around the house.

This songs gonna get stuck inside your heeee-aaddd. You’ll get it when you see the movie!

The puns are hilarious and the Marvel shade totally had me rolling.

The LEGO 2 Movie: The Second Part Parental Review

I took all 4 of my kids (7, 12, 14, and 16) and this movie is age appropriate for everyone.

My 16-year-old was sitting next to me and laughed the whole movie long, so even an older child will enjoy this one! But my 7-year-old wins the night as she was belly laughing like crazy.

I love movies that we can all enjoy, and this one was right up there for us.  6/6 Shenanigans agree.

The LEGO® Movie 2: The Second Part movie opens on February 8, 2019, in theaters nationwide!
