Marvel Movie Lineup | Marvel Movie Schedule

2018 was the year of Marvel movies, with the Marvel movie lineup delivering three blockbuster movies.

The Marvel movie schedule was packed!

We started off in Wakanda with Black Panther, were shell-shocked with Avengers: Infinity War, and gasped way too loudly at the end scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp. You know the one I’m talking about!

I’m still trying to process all that transpired.

The roller coaster ride of 2018 promises to continue on with more Marvel movies on the horizon for 2019 and beyond.

Here’s the Marvel movie lineup for 2019 and a hint to what we can expect from the Marvel movie schedule in the years to come.

Minor spoilers in this post: I’m not going into detailed plot points, but I am assuming you’ve been online and read or seen a few important scenes!

2019 Marvel Movie Lineup

The good news: we’re getting three new movies to our list of Marvel movies in 2019.

The bad news? We have to wait until March for this ball to start rolling!

Until then, we will of course have all the Marvel Movie lineup news we hear shared on this post. I’ll update as more information comes out (because they have to start teasing us with 2020 soon, right? Right!)

Captain Marvel | March 8, 2019

This is the new Captain Marvel poster and lets all say it together: daayyyymmmmn! This looks HOT!

2019 Marvel Movie lineup: Captain Marvel Movie Poster

Up first in the Marvel movies list for 2019 is Captain Marvel. And this one is going to bring all the nostalgia for those of us raised in the early 90s.

That’s the Xennial generation (Gen X plus Millenials- holla!).

Academy Award winner Brie Larson joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe- dropping in, so to speak, as Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers.

She’s one badass superhero and I am geeking out over what her movie is going to bring!

Captain Marvel has been part of The Avengers over the years and most recently she showed up in the ending credit of Avengers: Infinity War.

For those that weren’t familiar with her symbol, that’s what Nick Fury’s last moments were all about: sending a distress signal to Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel is rumored to be the most powerful superhero in the MCU, and based on the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, she’s going to show up just in time!

At least, I hope she shows up in time (or back in time? With the Time Stone in play, who knows?!).

I just know this trailer had us all up in our feels over Captain Marvel and the 90s!

Captain Marvel Trailer Reaction Video

There’s a new trailer coming out tonight (12.3.2018) during Monday Night Football.

And you know I’m going to be glued to that game (who’s playing? WHO CARES!) watching for this trailer.

But to catch up on the previous trailer, check out my reaction video with fellow Marvel Mom, Tania Lamb.

We know Captain Marvel is going to change the universe and we. cannot. wait!

Be sure to stick around for more Captain Marvel news; you know I’ll share as soon as I can.

Side note: when we interviewed Samuel L. Jackson during the Incredibles 2 Event, he couldn’t say enough great things about his friend, Brie Larson.

I’m looking forward to seeing them together in the MCU!

Avengers 4 | May 3, 2019

I ask you: can anything be more mindblowing than Avengers: Infinity War?

How about wrapping up that cliffhanger ending where half the universe is gone in a snap? Because that’s what we hope to see with the currently unnamed Avengers 4.

Avengers Infinity War D23 cast on stage Trailer

Marvel movie lineup: wrapping up MCU Phase 3 in 2019 with Avengers 4. Here’s the cast of Avengers: Infinity War at the D23 Expo in 2017.

The release date and cast are pretty much the only things we know for sure about the next Marvel movie in order.

We don’t even have the official title (just yet!).

Reshoots are wrapping up and of course, all the rumors and possible plot points are swirling.

Which heroes will live? Who will return? Who won’t? Gah!

There’s a strong rumor (I haven’t seen it confirmed by Marvel yet, but sources who “know” say…) that the Avengers 4 trailer is dropping during Good Morning America on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

Ready to break the Internet? Move over, Ralph, I think Marvel is up to that task.

I can’t wait until May! But I’ll start with trying to make it to Wednesday. Ha!

Spider-Man: Far From Home | July 5, 2019

Like I said before, there are three new MCU movies in 2019. But one isn’t Marvel Studios. But it’s still MCU.

Sigh, I know, it’s complicated.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is MCU but not Marvel Studios exactly. Sony is in charge of this one.

Studio frienemies maybe?

I dunno- it’s weird. But we are counting Spider-Man for sure!

After going through a few actors, I hope Tom Holland sticks around because he’s my favorite Spider-Man.

In fact, he pretty much made Spider-Man a top 5 superhero for me.

After Infinity War and his scene-stealing moments, you know I can’t wait to see Spider-Man: Far From Home since it’s the last of the 2019 Marvel movies in order.

It has also been confirmed that the action of Far From Home picks up just after the ending of Avengers 4. So that should give Spider-Man lovers who were devastated in Infinity War a little hope.

I’m also seeing news that Nick Fury and Maria Hill are major figures in Far From Home, which would be fantastic (and again gives some hints to reversals of some dustings anyway) but… I don’t want to swear this is the case just yet.

Future Marvel Movie Schedule

Now we venture into a bit of the unknown.

We know there is a Marvel Phase 4 happening (See Spider-Man Far From Home) and we know at least 5 movies that have been confirmed in this phase.

But we have no idea what the next big story arc is going to be- though we can guess that Avengers 4 is going to give us some big hints to the future.

Black Panther Trailer and Poster released October 2017! New Marvel coming to the screen in February 2018

Currently, we only know of 5 films that have been announced. Here’s what we know so far about the next Marvel movies in order.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is the first movie in Phase 4. Opening soon after Avengers 4, this one can get us through to 2020 and the next Marvel movies list!

Marvel Movies List Phase 4 Release Dates

This is the list of dates Marvel set aside for releasing of movies, but nothings been slotted in or announced just yet other than Spider-Man: Far From Home.

But if you like to plan your cinema-going dates in advance, here you go!

Marvel Phase 4 Release Dates

May 1, 2020
July 31, 2020
November 6, 2020
February 12, 2021
May 7, 2021
November 5, 2021
February 18, 2022
May 6, 2022
July 29, 2022

We’ll have to see how those dates get filled because so far, not a whole lot has been announced/confirmed.

I’ll update this list as we learn more, but here’s what has been officially confirmed.

  • Spider-Man: Far From Home  July 5, 2019

  • Black Panther 2   *Feb or May 2021?

Announced in October 2018, Ryan Coogler is back at the head of this one, writing and directing Black Panther 2.

And all of Wakanda cheered!

Rumored dates: production in late 2019/early 2020 with an opening in 2021.

Is T’Challa back? Let’s hope so. But we have to wait until Avengers 4 to find that out!

  • Black Widow

All we know about this one is the director. Cate Shorthand was annoucned as the Black Widow director in July 2018… and that’s it!

  • Doctor Strange 2

I hope people are on board with more Doctor Strange after the role he played in Infinity War.

This dude is prime superhero material- and I can’t get enough of him! Looking forward to hearing where his story arc will go after Avengers 4.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

We think, anyway. Guardians of the Galaxy was greenlit— and now it’s not.

As a Guardians fan, I’m holding out hope that the movie does have a future. Because this is a group of heroes I want to see more of!

That’s the Marvel movies in chronological order list so far! As more movies come out, we’ll adjust the timing.

We know Captain Marvel happens in the 90s, so that’s going to change up the order a bit- but I want to wait until I see the movie to decide where this one lands on the Marvel movies in chronological order list.
