The Month of Beauty and the Beast
Hear ye, hear ye! I, Patty Shenanigans the First, decree this month all things Beauty and the Beast.?
With the live action movie coming out starring the incomparable?Hermione Granger, errr, Emma Watson AND the Princess Half Marathon?theme, this just feels like a blogger executive order I can get behind.
My husband just asked me why everyone is all in a twitter over this movie.
Me: <blink blink>
Him: I mean, the movie came out in, what, 1992?
Me: IT WAS 1991 AND IT WAS EVERYTHING.?
Him: Um, okay, I just wondered… (slowly backs away)
In his defense, he didn’t meet me until 1992 and I had slowed my roll a bit by then about the wonders of this movie. So I’ll cut him a little slack there. But just a little.
C’mon, man, don’t you know this story and how she’d appeal to so many of us? She was kinda a bad ass. And Gaston is one of the best villains in the Disney universe.
She reminded me a lot of another Princess at times. Belle, like Leia, had my heart.
So, yeah. This one is a top movie to see of 2017 for most Gen X’ers who were mesmerized by the original.
The first looks and trailers are just amping the hype.
Standby for more Beauty and the Beast this month! I’m thinking costumes, crafts, a recipe maybe… who knows?
But I know I’ll be in the theater, with my family in tow, on opening day.
Beauty and the Beast: Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Dan Stevens as the Prince, Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ewan McGregor as Lumi?re, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts.
Directed by Bill Condon, ?Beauty and the Beast? brings the story and characters audiences know and love to life in a stunning, cinematic event. The film will be released in U.S. theaters nationwide on March 17, 2017.
