New Balance Loyalty Program

Sharing is caring!

I’m not sure why this isn’t turning into a big thing just yet.

But this is a big thing,?guys! ?Especially if you were shut out of the Disneyland Half or Wine & Dine registration and would still like to run.

Last week one of the running groups on Facebook posted about a RunKeeper/New Balance relationship. ?You download both apps and connect them. ?Through these apps, you can earn loyalty points.

Not so different from any normal loyalty program, right?

Well, this one is different.

Because you can earn race bibs to runDisney events.

Oh, my freaking goodness y’all… you CAN get something for FREE from Disney.

And it’s not taking a whole lot of effort to reach that level, either.

Sound too good to be true? ?I decided to look into it and see what the scoop really is.

I think it’s legit- with a caveat.

I contacted a rep with New Balance to find out a bit more information. ?She informed me that the runDisney bibs are a high-level prize in the loyalty program and that they are first come, first serve and super limited.

So think about that. ?Super limited.

Which means by the time you reach?your desired level through RunKeeper, the bib you were aiming for might be gone. ?And as this program gets out there, it’s going to be harder to earn those free bibs (and I suspect the redemption level rises as well).

Here’s how it works at the time of writing:

1. ?Download the My New Balance app to your smart phone.

BAM. ?You’ve got 500 points.

2. ?Connect to RunKeeper. ?

BAM ?300 more points.

Alright… you’ve got me interested. ?In a matter of 2 minutes, I had 800 points. ?To earn a bib for Wine & Dine, I need 4000 points. ? Let’s see how we can get there and if it’s possible to do so quickly.

3. ?Complete your New Balance Profile.?

This is easy enough- just answer some basic questions about your likes when it comes to sports and shopping. ?They don’t even require your birth YEAR, which as a woman in her ahem-40s- I appreciate.

4. ?Get Social.

You’ll gain points by following New Balance social media. ?It says to click through to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest via NewBalance.com while you are signed in. ?I did this and gained a whopping 1200 points.

5. ?Welcome to Silver, y’all!

That was easy.

I could claim some prizes at this point, but I’m all Eye of the Tiger now. ?Wine and Dine: you WILL be mine. ?(Not really- I hate that race, I’m just using that as an example.)

6. ?Go window shopping.

I added 3 items to my Wish List. ?New Balance said thank you with 600 points. ?If you REALLY go shopping, you’ll gain 10 points for every $1 you spend on NewBalance.com.

Example: ?A pair of shoes? ?1100 points. ?BAM BAM BAM.

7. ?GO RUN. ?

Here’s where RunKeeper, an app many of us use anyway, factors in. ?Queue up that bad boy and hit the road. ?You’ll get 25 points for every activity you complete using RunKeeper (up to 8 times a month). ?Run more, earn more.

I’m doing this later- quit nagging me!

Without spending a dime or basically any effort I’ve got 3,100 points. ?I’m a mere 900 points (or one shoe purchase away) from getting a free runDisney bib. ?If I had my heart set on Wine and Dine, it would be worth buying some shoes (hey, you need them anyway!) to be able to run.

FOR FREE.

Is that crazy cool or what?

You can get all the deets right here.

Have you signed up for the My New Balance loyalty program yet? ?What race bib would you love to earn?

  1. Thanks, Patty! I signed up today, did my profile, attached to RunKeeper, following on FB, Twitter and Pinterest and reached silver in nothing flat! Woohoo! I’m going to try to register for the Princess 10K in Feb. if I’m not able to get in the regular way, I’ll try for the race bib through NB.

  2. Wow. Oh WOW!
Thank you for spreading the word about this.
I’m not sure how I missed it since New Balance is my go to shoe, but I’m downloading this app just as soon as I finish this comment.
    Cheers!
