Best Reactions to Solo: A Star Wars Story
I’m always nervous when a new movie that I genuinely loved on preview comes out. I watch social media to see if it turns out I was the only one. Since I run in a heavily Disney influenced crowd, it is always interesting to see the reactions and criticisms from some of their biggest fans. I woke up this morning to some of the best reactions to Solo: A Star Wars Story and I am loving it!
Alright- when I watched the movie almost 2 weeks ago, I knew it was going to surprise people. And I’ve been waiting for this one to kick off Memorial Day weekend.
My personal thoughts on the movie? It is a ton of fun! And Solo: A Star Wars Story is kid-friendly (so take the whole family this weekend!). After watching the other Star Wars movies in order, this one felt like it was one of the most “ok” for kids in the franchise to me. Also- follow that list to find out the best way to watch the Star Wars movies in order, including suggestions from Mark Hamill himself!
And I’m going to go ahead and warn you: ignore Rotten Tomatoes on this one. I’m convinced that people are still salty over how they felt personally victimized or whatever with The Last Jedi (insert big ol’ eye roll here) and are taking it out via their access to internet voting systems.
What did Twitter think? Here are some of the best reactions to Solo: A Star Wars Story in 280 characters or less.

While not exactly a reaction, I had to add this one. The Twitter team at the Orlando International Airport is amusing me lately. May the Force be with you guys: and I hope Lando finds what he’s looking for in MCO!
Reaction to Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo
A bunch of people owe Alden Ehrenreich an apology. He is absolutely fantastic in #SoloAStarWarsStory

I am one of them. My friend?Tania at Lolalambchops is one as well and admits as much in her interview with Alden.
My apologies, Alden. Hugely owe you this; you nailed the essence of our guy Han and I loved your?take on him. He was young, in love, and fresh- despite coming from nothing. I love you- please come back for a sequel or 6.
If you?re going to try to reboot the Star Wars saga in a different way than anyone has tried before you?d better deliver the goods. Solo: A Star Wars Story does exactly that. I think the magic key can be summed up in one word: casting. https://t.co/ImXWstdiUH #SoloAStarWarsStory pic.twitter.com/xYHybgk0EY

I find this kinda hilarious- since the casting of Han was the biggest “concern” of many. Myself included! Again, forgive me, Alden, I was stupid and foolish and you are perfection. The cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story was fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for a better set of heroes or villains.
Positive Reactions to Solo: A Star Wars Story
Totally surprising for Twitter! I reached for my phone this morning and kinda held my breath to see what the reactions to Solo: A Star Wars Story would be.
Of course, there are people who felt it was unnecessary, there are people refusing to spend money on it, and there are people who just didn’t like it. But so far the hashtag is looking pretty positive, which is a welcome change from The Last Jedi where I wanted to throw my phone through a window at times.
I was one of those people pre-judging #SoloAStarWarsStory as a movie that might be fun, buy nobody really wanted. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was smiling ear to ear the entire time.

And this might be a favorite Solo:?A Star Wars Reaction because HYPERSPACE MOUNTAIN is a favorite of mine, so this totally fits. Also? Disneyland you can just go ahead and leave Hyperspace turned on forever and always (kthxbai).
And by the way, I would TOTALLY do this. Someone at Disneyland: hook a girl up with a 2.5 hour non-stop FastPass, please!
Solo: A Star Wars Story Ranking
How good was it? It was fun, it was nostalgic, and it was so worth seeing in the theaters. I’m going again at least 2 more times this weekend because I know I missed a lot of easter eggs I’m going to be on the hunt for!
For me, it lands solidly in the top 4 of Star Wars movies. In order, my favorites are:
- Empire Strikes Back
- Rogue One
- The Last Jedi?(don’t @ me- I loved it and you are wrong).
- Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Star Wars A New Hope
- The Force Awakens
- Return of the Jedi
- Episode III
- Episode II
- Episode I (ugh are we still subject to this crap? I need a redo)
I think these next two tweets sums it all up perfectly for me. My reaction to Solo: A Star Wars Story is exactly this:
Here’s another thing about #SoloAStarWarsStory: it doesn’t try to be what it’s not. The movie is honest about the type of film you’re there to see. And that’s why it works.

@RealRonHoward thank you so much #SoloAStarWarsStory was so much fun! Awesome job! Now I find myself wishing there was a full season to binge on, it was so good!
? Matt Nambot (@matywan) May 25, 2018
Totally binge-worthy. Totally. I love those reactions to Solo: A Star Wars Story. So very 2018.
And Ron Howard made a gorgeous film to boot. It feels like a space western with some feelings mixed in. And yeah, I had some major Chewbacca love going on with this one! Seeing Chewie climb into the cockpit with Han had me swooning and wiping a little tear.
Is the movie perfect? Nah, and I’m not saying it is. I’ll even concede that there are some issues that need to be addressed. Kinda big ones. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is a lot of fun and you’ll be surprised at every turn. This is a total love letter to the fans of the original trilogy and you will not be disappointed if you just go in expecting to be entertained.
Don’t Miss Solo: A Star Wars Story
Make sure your kids get in on this action. I’ve got some fun activity sheets for them to enjoy this weekend- and some May the 4th memes for you as well; I know we can’t get enough of Star Wars and coloring in my house!
