Review of the Mitsubishi Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition

Sharing is caring!

This week Drive Shop offered me the chance to zip around LA in the sporty Mitsubishi Mirage.

A fun new car for the weekend around Disneyland? Heck yeah, I’m in!

After landing late at LAX, I hopped on a shuttle to take me to my car. I spied this adorable purple-pink Mitsubishi on the lot and crossed my fingers that this would be mine.

Hey, I’m the mom in the basic black minivan. It’s not often I get to break out and get a little funky, so yes, color mattered to me in this case.

Score. She was mine!

THE DETAILS

I had a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage Roger Fosgate edition 5-door hatchback for the weekend.

Huge mom perk: 40 miles to the gallon. I’ll take that number any day!

It seats five without luggage. With luggage— well, I’ll get to that in a minute.

BELLS AND WHISTLES

This one came with Bluetooth hands-free phone system, a USB port, and cruise control.

But the real fun was in the music system. AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with Rockford Fosgate 360-watt ecoPUNCH amplifier and subwoofer. This baby could JAM!

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE

It’s a much smaller car than I’m used to, and I worried that I’d feel inadequate on the LA freeways.

Good news: the maneuverability more than made up for the small size. I felt safe driving and never had any concerns there. The pickup was great entering the freeways!

But I could see how someone less experienced or comfortable with traffic may see this as an issue.

As a smaller car, I did notice the lack of room for luggage. Remember when I said it sat 4? Well… that’s true. As long as you are not picking someone up from the airport who travels like I do. Ahem.

(Overpackers Anonymous is calling!)

I had a moment where I didn’t think my 28″ luggage would fit in the back due to the kickin’ speaker system, but it slid right in.

But that was it. It was all we had room for in the very back.

This car would be an excellent choice for someone who needs gas economy and likes to slip in and out of small parking spaces easily. Coming in at just under $16,000 makes it an attractive choice as well!

I enjoyed this car and would love to drive it around again. Thanks, Mitsubishi and DriveShop for letting me borrow her!

Is a sound system important to you in a vehicle? What’s your #1 feature?

Great color indeed. Was the amplifier of 360W or a subwoofer? Thank in advance
