Review: Ride In Style In the New Elantra
Something I’ve learned over the years: when in Los Angeles, you want wheels. Even if you only plan on one major destination, having a car is basically having freedom when you are visiting this vast city.
Last week I was sent to Disneyland for work (stop laughing, it was work, I swear) and Drive Shop?loaned me the elegant new Elantra to get around town.
From the moment I jumped in, I knew this one was going to be a favorite.

THE DETAILS
This was a 2017 Hyundai Elantra SE. Four-doors and plenty of room for the group of crazy travel agents that needed to get around Anaheim.
A comfortable ride for up to five people AND luggage. Which as you may have figured out, is important to me. I, uh, tend to bring a lot of it.

This car also had a pleasing 32 miles per gallon; if you’ve ever filled up in LA, you know this is GOOD financial news!
BELLS AND WHISTLES
Loved the Sirius radio! We had tons of choices and jammed out to the Barry Manilow station. Wut. It was good- you know you love some Copa Cabana too. (I think this station was a limited time offer, sorry to disappoint you!)

It also came with an amazingly clear backup camera that I LOVED.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
Honestly: nothing.
This car felt luxury- with a price tag that didn’t match. The car I drove came in just under $20,000 and didn’t have a single thing missing that I’d love to have on a daily drive.
My husband is car shopping in a few months and I texted him that this one needed to go on the list of possible replacements. He was surprised since we haven’t ever talked about a Hyundai before but happy to hear all about it.

And like a total girl, I said, “The cupholders are GREAT!”. Yeah, they are, but there are many other reasons this would be a good family car and commuter for my wonderful spouse.

Will keep you posted as the car shopping commences!
Do you have a favorite feature on your car? What do you wish you had that you don’t?

When I bought my current car the one feature I wanted was heated seats. It’s cold in MA!!
I always have to have a sunroof too.
My DH drives a Sonata and it’s a great car. Very zippy and smooth.
Yes! So smooth. And heated seats are my fave just not so much needed in AZ lol
