It’s been a little over a week since I returned from the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.
I think I’m ready for a reunion. Is now a good time for everyone? Ha. Just kidding.
Sorta.
One treat we received were legit backstage passes to ride Rock ‘N’ Roll Roller Coaster. We had the opportunity for a private ride early before the park opened… and to have the whole thing filmed.
The ride & experience was super cool, of course. But this story is more than just riding a roller coaster.
What I love about social media is – well- it’s social.
I’ve talked to many of these ladies for months and years online and developed relationships with them. But living states away can mean I will never actually meet them.
One of the people I really hoped to meet someday was Linda Scruggs from Unboxed Mom and MOMtility.
I finally got that chance thanks to Disney Social Media Moms.
I adored Linda online… but I fell in love with her on a roller coaster.
You know when you find someone you just click with? That is Linda.
Side note: there was a time when I was refused to even consider riding this roller coaster- or any coaster for that matter. I was TERRIFIED.
Fast forward to the DisBroads getting me onboard.

Obviously I’m having a blast. HA!
Roller coaster scardy cats: clearly I know what I’m talking about when I say it gets better.
So there’s your backstory.
Forward to conference day and Linda.
We lined up backstage waiting for our limo to arrive and I saw a little of the old me in Linda.
Ok, a lot of the old me.
She was calmly creeping away from her spot in line, looking through the gift shop to the door. Basically, she was freaking the heck out.
I totally knew that feeling.
I did what any good sponsor would do: I offered to ride with her.
She took the offer of a rehabilitated coaster phobic and took the plunge.
Here’s the video from our ride and the interview we taped before we got on. It’s pretty epic.
Okay… do you see why I love her?!
We bonded, big time, over Aerosmith. I can’t think of a more magical experience or a better person to share it with than Linda.
Thanks for bringing us together, Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.
Do you love the Rock ‘N’ Roll Roller Coaster like I do? Or are you more like Linda…?
I was invited to attend the 2015 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. As an attendee, I received park tickets and a discounted room as part of my conference fee. I was not asked to write anything in exchange, but you know me, I HAD to tell you all about it!
