My New Thing: Self-Care Saturday
This week has abeen a month, amirite, parents? And it feels like I’m saying that pretty much every week lately. I’m ready to reclaim my time and make self-care Saturday a thing. Who’s ready to embrace that no-guilt life with me? This post is sponsored by Babbleboxx.com
I’m not sure if it’s the end of the school year madness- or a booming business (fist pump!)- or the fact that between my travel and my husband’s travel we are never in the same place for long.
But… this week I’m feeling all kinds of run-down.
And now that I wrote that out, I realize it’s probably all of the above. Yikes.
Life: it’s awesome and messy and easy to get completely overwhelmed by it. So what are we going to do about it?

My New Thing: Self-Care Saturday
I’ve decided to embrace self-care Saturday, a little phrase my friend Amiyrah Martin likes to share in her Instastories.
Moms & Dads: we gotta take care of us sometimes.
Remember the whole put your oxygen mask on first thing that flight attendants tell us? THAT. DO THAT!
So today I tried out all the goodies in the Best in Self & Health Babbleboxx and treated myself to a little self-care day.
And as you can guess, I felt no guilt over taking this time for myself!
We happened to have a break from all the sports and activities this weekend, so I jumped ALL OVER that amazing free time. Had myself a mini Treat Yo Self Day!
A Run With Trekz Air from Aftershokz
Up first: I need to move. That’s an important part of my personal self-care.
I became a runner because I needed to do something just for me that was probably a little selfish. And I’m cool with that decision.
So I hit the trail for a little me time with a side of Justin Timberlake (you know it’s Gonna Be May soon!) accompanying me via the Trekz Air from Aftershokz.
As a runner, I’d heard of the Aftershokz brand before. You can count on this brand to be recommended in any Facebook running group you can find if you are looking for a blue-tooth headphone option.
The Tekz Air are light, open-eared titanium headphones that allow you to hear your tunes- and the world around you- as you exercise.
And I’m totally in love. Where have they been all my life?!
They fit great, sound fantastic, and were easy to use. Loved the little instruction card they came with- so simple even a tech-deficient person like me can understand and get set up!

Self-Care Saturday With CELSIUS Live Fit
I love carbonated flavored water, but actually, don’t buy a lot of it as it feels extravagant somehow. I know, that’s a weird way to think of it! But trying this sparkling apple fuji pear flavored drink was an easy ask!
CELSIUS Live Fit is clinically proven to boost energy, burn calories, and help boost metabolism. If it tasted great, I was down with all of that in my life!
I chilled mine in the fridge overnight because I love cold drinks and opened this up while typing up this post. I put it in a fancy glass because it’s Treat Yo Self-Care day!
And it hit the spot- definitely not a bad after workout option, but I’m thinking it might even be better first thing in the morning or in the 3pm dregs of the afternoon when you need a boost.
Plus it has only 10 calories and 1 carb, so I feel like it would fit a Keto lifestyle as well.
This one is going on the Self-Care Saturday must have list!
Adding Berry & Enzyme Power from The Synergy Company To My Meals
I’m not super crunchy and probably could pay a bit more attention to my diet. Okay, I could TOTALLY pay a lot more attention to it.
And lately, I’ve been having more heartburn and digestive issues which I’ve been chalking up to getting older. Maybe? I don’t know but it has been something I’ve noticed more.
Enter Berry Power and Enzyme Power to my new self-care routine!
I added 1 tsp of Berry Power to my post-run smoothie- which was also berry flavored, so that worked. A little antioxidant powder can’t be a bad thing.
I also decided to start taking the Enzyme Power with every meal. These digestive plant enzymes are all natural and bolster the immune system.

Chilling Out With The Eye Gels from Patchology
I was probably most psyched about this product.
I work all day (and sometimes all night- ugh- a whole other story!) on the computer and my eyes are feeling and looking T-I-R-E-D.
If I’m not writing, I’m behind the wheel carpooling kiddos all over the place.
Spending a little time with eye gel patches on my eyes sounded pretty dang heavenly to me. I kicked back, slipped these little beauties on, and relaxed for 20 minutes.
If you only have 10 minutes, that’s cool too- but it was my first self-care Saturday so I went ahead and treated myself to twice as long!
The company embraces the idea of “beauty at the speed of you” and I’m all on board with this message!
- moodpatch Perk Up – this is for improving focus and motivation via green tea and antioxidant pine leaf extract.
- moodpatch Happy Place – rose scented and absolutely lovely- they inspire creativity and positive energy.
- moodpatch Down Time – did someone say de-stress? This one uses natural calendula petals and lavender aromatherapy for just that purpose!
I went with Down Time and have no regrets.

Self-Care Saturday Success!
I felt pretty good after trying all these products that I even slipped in a trip to the salon for a mani-pedi. I mean, go big or go home! Plus I wanted to get red carpet ready for the Avengers: Endgame premiere I’m heading to on Monday.
Guys, I’m excited about Self-Care Saturdays! This was a smashing success and I cannot wait to do it all over again next week.
It might be a challenge to make it all happen every weekend, but I’m committing myself to one “totally unnecessary but oh so necessary just for me self-care moment” every Saturday. I hope you can find one to embrace as well!
Tell me about your self-care routine!
