We’re talking about our month this week on Tuesdays on the Run!
Let us know how September went for you on the road, track or trail.
Are the temps finally dipping a bit or is there literally NO Fall in your neck of the woods?
We’re also looking for new topics for October and November, so send something fun our way if you have something running through your mind.
Running in September: it actually happened.
I know, I was surprised myself.
I didn’t get out to the Disney World Resort fun run like I wanted to last week (we were all so Disney-tired we could barely function!) but I did get back out on the trail a few times this month.
But like I said I got out on the trail a couple of times, and enjoyed it.
I needed a few things to happen here:
School needed back in session (CHECK!)
The temps needed to fall a smidge (CHECK!).
I also had a “let’s get real” talk with my best friend- also a fallen former runner.
We decided things had to change… for a variety of reasons.
This is nothing new if you’ve been around here long enough; you know I’m on the struggle bus when it comes to motivation. Bah.
It’s getting old.
But… always a work in progress and always honest about where I struggle.
Here’s a little rundown of the why right here that I put up on Facebook Live and IGTV yesterday.
Basically: we’ve decided that running is more important for a variety of reasons for us, and by ignoring it, we weren’t doing anyone around us any favors!
Our families deserve better. Our bodies deserve better. Our minds and work deserve better!
All things flow from sweat equity- and running simply makes me a better human being in just about all aspects of my life.
So we’re starting small with accountability on one day a week: #NeverMissAMonday
The hope is that one day flows into many… but we’re going to start with one.
Join us on Mondays: we’lll be posting on Instagram & stories with #nevermissaMonday
Every run may not be pretty (yesterday – in the rain- certainly was not!) but we’re going to make it out on Mondays!
So to rate my month: any other normal runner would say this was a D- month. And I wouldn’t say differently.
But for me and my specific state of running, I’m going to give it a solid C+. There’s certainly room to improve here!
Let’s do this, October!
