For Tuesdays on the Run we decided it was time to start celebrating the long year behind us.
Why do we run?? There’s lots of reasons and every runner has theirs.? But many runners will profess that they love the bling.
Hello, I’m Patty, and I’m a bling-a-holic.
This week your hosts Erika, April, and I would love to see and hear about your bling!? Show some, show all, show your favorite, show your most meaningful… whatever direction you want to take we want to talk about the pretties that wait for us at the finish line.

Show Me the BLING!
This picture pretty much says it all:
That was taken in August.
I’ve since added a few more medals (for the record: 5 Disney and 1 non-Disney).
Why do I runDisney?
Bottom line: I adore their bling.
Other things too, of course.? They put on a good race, a great show, and I feel comfortable there.? Oh, and I get to visit my happy places after I race!? But really… it’s all about the medals.
My favorite?
I love the Coast to Coast medal with Mickey and Walt.? I own the pink version of this as well which I earned for running both the Tinker Bell Half and the Princess Half in the same year.? But the classic blue and black one truly stands out for me and catches my eye when I pass it.
I always say that I love both parks equally.? I do have a favorite when it comes to running, however.
Disneyland: your typically mild temps and low humidity partnered with flat roads makes Shenanigans a VERY happy runner.
In that vein of thought, the Avengers Half medal is pretty sweet too.? This was a race that really challenged me for a number of reasons (recap coming this week I hope!)? I’m kinda digging the bright silver of this spinner medal.
The medal that makes me break out in a big grin is the Surf City 10K/10-Miler medal.
A surf board.? A bottle opener.? It’s awesome on multiple levels.
What’s missing from my collection?? Well… that darn Goofy medal.
Maybe 2016 will be my year.
But… I will have the coveted Star Wars medals coming my way soon!? If the Force is with me, that is.
And the newest obsession?
Hello, Gorgeous.
It’s been called the most expensive 5K on the planet.? I’ll have to take a plane, a bus and a boat or two to get there.
But I’m running the Castaway Cay 5K after the Princess Half Marathon in February.
And earning this.
I never thought a cruise was in my plans, much less this pretty little thing, but sometimes things fall into place!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Valentines Day, & Happy Birthday to me!? Bling me!
What medal is on your dream list?? Which one do you own that you love the most?

Oh my, that Castaway Cay medal is gorgeous. I have to do a cruise one day, but it won't be anytime soon (unless you're looking for a stowaway)!

The Castaway Cay 5k sounds fun. And who doesn't love a cruise? Right now all my medals are all together. But after Goofy I'd love to have one of just my Disney medals.

I hope it's awesome. I have to admit I like options and feel like being "stuck on a boat" limits those. But I'm willing to do the time- for research. bahahahaha!
