Skinnygirl Back to School Celebration

It’s the most wonderful time, of the year! I’t’s time for a Skinnygirl Back to School Celebration with a refreshing cocktail. Join me?

Did you sing it? Because I sure did with a stupid smile on my face as I filled out forms for band, soccer tryouts, field trip permissions, emergency contacts and all the goodness that is back to school.

BTS, Y’ALL. BACK. TO. SCHOOL.

Oh yeah, it’s time, y’all. Time for this momma to enjoy a No-Guilt BTS celebration!

Apologies to my teacher readers. I know you don’t love this talk, but hopefully, educating my cherubic children (and hundreds like them!) will be worth it for you in the end. God bless the teachers, I’m not even exaggerating when I say you are all at hero level in my household. I couldn’t do what you do. LOVE YOU!

Some of you aren’t feeling me on the back to school excitement. I get it. But here’s my deal with summer.

Summers are stupid hot here in Arizona which makes for a lot of, oh let’s call it, “together time” at my house.

Inside the house is lovely air conditioning, and outside is hell. Basically.

So we all stay inside. Together. Five of us.

Momma, uh, I mean, the kids need space.

My kids need to play. They need to romp and frolic and spend all day outside being creative or working on their free throws so they can get scholarships. Unless I put them all on a graveyard shift schedule, that won’t happen.

So I’ve been outnumbered. And I haven’t liked the odds.

Alas, the end is near. In 2 short weeks (yaaassssss, girl, yaaasssss!) my kids will ALL be matriculating. Even my baby is going back to school as she enters kindergarten.

I’m celebrating that fact with a Skinnygirl inspired celebration cocktail.

Look, if you can’t celebrate your kid’s education, I’m not sure what you can celebrate, amirite?

Skinnygirl Back to School Celebration White Cherry Spritzer

I’m not going to be obnoxious about it, but, yeah, after dinner I’m going to have a cocktail and a toast to the new school year.

The perfect end of summer drink is this white cherry spritzer. It’s flavored with the Skinnygirl White Cherry Water Enhancer to keep it low-calorie and guilt-free.

Look here, Skinnygirl bartenders! I've got a recipe for White Cherry Spritzers. This is a Skinnygirl inspired cocktail to celebrate back to school. (Wut. It's a big deal around here!) The alcohol brand started by former "Real Housewife of New York" Bethenny Frankel, has a guilt-free line of snacks including chocolates, sparkling water, teas and mints.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 parts vodka (You can leave this out for a non-alcoholic version!)
  • 3 parts club soda
  • 1 generous squeeze of Skinnygirl White Cherry Water Enhancer
  • lemons, cherries, and basil for garnish

Pour vodka, club soda, and Skinnygirl White Cherry Water Enhancer into a cocktail shaker.

Carefully give a gentle shake or swirl to mix the ingredients. Club soda is carbonated, so don’t do a big shake!

Pour in a tall glass over ice. Top off with a splash of club soda and a squeeze of lemon.

Garnish with cherries, lemon slice, and basil.

Cheers to the end of yet another long, hot, loud, and cranky Arizona summer!

Are you looking forward to back to school?
