Smile With Strength | Colgate Enamel Health

As you know, my focus this year is to lead a strong, active, and healthy lifestyle. When I feel strong, I know I can take on anything that this crazy thing called life throws at me. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and the long-term goal of overall physical health is the finish line.

That means I’m looking at all aspects of my health and making tweaks along the way.

Nutrition and activity are the two obvious places, but after a series of unfortunate trips to the dentist last year for emergency root canals- yes, that’s PLURAL- I’m also making sure I?Smile with Strength?.

As a mom, I’m pretty good about getting my kids to their dentist twice a year, making sure they brush and hound them about flossing. I do all the right “mom things” when it comes to teeth.

And I’ve got a great score sheet to prove it: 4 out of 4 cavity free mouths here.

Look at those perfect smiles!

When it came to myself, well, that was a different story.

Thanks to some rough moments at various dentists in the past, I avoided my dental health concerns for way too long. Sure, I brushed here and there. And I flossed when I remembered. Which wasn’t often. And it was not enough.

That all caught up to me when I underwent back to back emergency root canals last year.

Guys. ?That was NOT fun. And it’s not healthy for your body… OR your wallet.

Cha-ching!

Just a small portion of the bills I've had to pay toward my dental health! Ouch!

How am I avoiding that same problem now? Simple: I’ve changed my ways.

I’m focusing on keeping my gums and teeth healthy and strong, and I’m using?Colgate? Enamel Health? Mineral Repair? Toothpaste to do it.

It can strengthen and repair weakened enamel from everyday wear and tear, and it’s now part of my personal routine.

Smile with Strength?with these tips:

  • Floss every day.?Sometimes twice a day. I know, it seems excessive. Especially since many of us are finding it hard to do it once. I keep a bag of flossers in my car, at my desk, and in my purse. If I have a moment to think while stopped in the car line at school or while I’m writing, I take the moment to floss. Anything that will give my gums and teeth a stronger edge, I’ll do it!
  • Drink water most of the day. I rarely drink soda or sweetened drinks as this can cause further damage to my teeth. I will cop to one coffee a day, but hey, no one is perfect.
  • Brush every day. Twice a day. Sometimes it’s three times if I happened to have something garlicky for lunch. Using #ColgateEnamelHealth is a recent change that I’m LOVING. Not only does my mouth feels shiny and clean, but Colgate? Enamel Health? Mineral Repair? Toothpaste also strengthens my teeth for a stronger, beautiful smile.
