It feels like FOREVVVVEERR since we first heard the news about a Star Wars Land. A Star Wars Land is indeed coming to Disney World and Disneyland- and guys, it’s almost here!
During a Disney shareholder meeting today, we heard that the opening dates for Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Is Star Wars Land Open?
First of all, let’s just clear the air here.
I get asked this question a lot. But- nope, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is not open just yet!
But if you’ve been to the parks recently, you know that the construction is progressing nicely.
At Disneyland, you can get a decent view of the new land from Big Thunder Mountain and it’s been so cool to watch it rise over the years.
At Disney World, you can get a great peep at the new land from the back of Slinky Dog Coaster.
Where is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?
There’s going to be a Star Wars Land at both US Disney Parks!
You can visit the planet of Batuu & the Black Spire Outpost at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and also at the original Disneyland Park in California.
Both are located kinda in the back of the parks, so be prepared for a bit of a journey to get to the new Star Wars attractions.
When in 2019 Will Star Wars Land Open?
Alright- the BIG question!
Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has an opening date of May 31, 2019.
From the Disney Parks Blog:
Guests planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy?s Edge at Disneyland park in California between May 31 and June 23, 2019 will need valid theme park admission and will be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. Information on how to make a reservation will be available at a later date on Disneyland.com and the Disney Parks Blog. Guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels during these dates will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy?s Edge during their stay (one reservation per registered guest); valid theme park admission is required.
Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has an opening date of August 29, 2019.
No reservations required at Disney World at this time, but please not: NO FASTPASSES will be available for this attraction. That’s right: you want to ride, you’re going to need to commit to standing in line a lot longer than 12 parsecs!
Who’s making plans to get into the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon?
