Sum It Up Sunday
This week went by FAST! ?I think coming home from a big trip like D23 Expo helps make the days fly by.
This post is a couple of?hours late because I slept over 12 hours last night! ?Oh my gosh- I don’t even know when that happened last. ?But sleep: ?it was needed big time. ?And I love sleep, so this was a great Saturday night accomplishment for me.
Here are my updates from last week. ?It’s not too crazy, but that’s all going to change in the week ahead.
Soccer Mom Status: Achieved
Praise be- I’m a soccer mom again. ?My kids have always played soccer (I played soccer, Mr. S. played soccer, it was a given) until we moved to Arizona. ?Here everyone wants to play baseball.
Meh.
I mean, it is ok, but it’s not conducive to late night games and practices since those games can literally go on FOREVER. ?My biggest pet peeve is getting kids to bed late, and baseball loved to do that to me. ?As noted above: I love sleep and think it’s one of the most important factors for kids (and parents!) when it comes to a healthy lifestyle.
Luke tried out and made the soccer team- and even better, he saw a large chunk of playing time as a 7th grader. ?I’m so proud of him!
Working Out & Running
I didn’t get the workouts in this week that I planned. ?Mostly because I was so tired from the week before that I just hadn’t gotten myself reset yet.
I did run 3 times (2 miles, 5 miles, and a 10K yesterday) and managed to get a P90X workout in.
My goal is running 4 times a week with 3 P90X workouts in every week. ? Close- but not hitting activity levels last week. ?I’ll do better this week!
My runs were good, though. ?Not fast, but right now I’m not focusing on speed. ?I am in that sweet spot of actually enjoying the activity and know that when I kicked it up to the next level that love will slip.
Since my only races immediately coming up are total Shenanigans races, I’m cool with my full on turtle status.
Periscope
I’m trying something new- new to me, new to you, new to the social media universe.
I first learned about Periscope in May and used it a bit while at Walt Disney World. ?It’s a fun way to live-connect with people via a video stream app. ?I’m ‘Scoping every day for the rest of the month to see how I feel about the medium. ?If I happen to talk about something interesting or important that might want to live longer than 24-hours, I’ll download and save to YouTube.
Here is the first one I saved. ?It’s my When Did It Start For You video answering the question when did my love of Disney really start. ?I’d love to hear your stories too!
D23 Expo Recaps Continue
I posted a couple of recaps so far: the Legends Awards and my What Worked, What Didn’t thoughts. ?Be sure to check those out if going to the D23 Expo is on your mind for 2017.
I think it’s important to know EXACTLY what it was and what it wasn’t.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I’m obsessed. ?Thanks to Netflix and my treadmill, I’m catching up on this show.
Guys!!! ?This was the OH MY GOSH NOOOOOOOOOOO picture I took near the end of season 1.
I haven’t gone back to see what happens next as I’m still recovering from this one.
Confession: I wikied and googled a bit to find out about Agent May but NO ONE TOLD ME THIS WAS HAPPENING. ?It took me by surprise.
If you are watching the show, you are my people now. ?If you aren’t watching the show, get you some Netflix and get ON this bandwagon. Especially if you need a good long run distraction while on the treadmill.
Coming Up This Week
My way too cute dad and uncle are going on an EPIC road trip. ?For 10 days, they are both 66-years-old and decided, hey, we’ve got a Corvette, let’s go for a ride.
How adorable is this? ?They loaded up with golf clubs and maybe a pair of clean clothes (the ‘Vette doesn’t fit a lot and the clubs are the priority here) and are heading out to drive as much of Route 66 as they can.
Everyone say… awwwwwwww.
Seriously the cutest.
Since Dad is out on his own road trip, Mom is coming to visit ME! ?And she might sneak up to Winslow, Arizona, to stand on a corner as they drive by. 😉
I’ve got a doctors appointment with an endocrinologist (FINALLY) this week. ?Hoping to get the biopsy out of the way (not worried, but I have nodes) and move on to some other issues I’d like to address.

Send me prayers, vibes, pixie-dust, what have you, please. ?I’m not really tolerant of doctors who think they know more than me (bahahahaha- I know, Dr. Google is the worst!) so let’s try to keep the Shenanigans in check this week, ok?
Tuesdays on the Run topic: ?BRAS. ?You know you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers. ?Guys, you might want to sit this one out. ?Ha!
Alright-Mount Laundry isn’t going to clean itself!
How was your week? ?Did you meet your running/workout goals?
