Sum It Up Sunday
A little late in the day, but I’m getting around to summing up my week on this glorious Sunday afternoon.
You know, I used to work on Sundays. I do not miss it. At all. But especially on Sundays. It’s been a great day for my family: the older kids & Mr. Shenanigans took off for a spring training baseball game (Oakland vs Chicago) and #OhLucy and I are hanging out doing the potty training thing. Since I pretty much loathe baseball, I’m not complaining about being left with the dirty work. Yes- I choose poopie and pee-pee over baseball. That should tell you something about how much I dislike watching baseball. Playing- a whole other story though. I’m an enigma.
Spring Break
A week before our Spring Break started, we had a visit from my oldest sister and her girls. It was a quick visit in and out to see my ailing Grandmother, but I was so happy to see them! They live in Austin so the big exodus of family hit some of them pretty hard. Evan, my sweet goddaughter worst of all! My oldest niece, Logan, has reached that age where she’s much too cool to hang out with the other kids. It’s all good though- we still had a chance to chit chat with her- whenever you could get her to put her books down!
It started off with the kids school carnival. Since this was our first year at the new school, I didn’t know what to expect. Apparently they turned it up a notch- just for us?
We enjoyed huge rides, carnival food, and fun games for the kids- all in the church parking lot. We spent all day there and Luke begged to go back that night. I have a feeling there was a girl (or two) he was interested in seeing again. Nice try, little dude. But there’s only so much carney vibe I can take. And besides, we were heading off to Northern California the next day to see my sister.
Oh California. How I love and hate you. Before Californians get offended, it’s just so $$$ painful to visit there; I cannot imagine how much it would $$$ hurt to live there! But it is one of the most beautiful states I’ve ever seen, and I’m happy to visit whenever I $$$ can.

The view leaving the beach. Very beautiful, but… #WompWomp |
We had a fabulous week with the cousins and hope they get to make a trip to Arizona for their spring break! I know a certain Super Grandma who would love to have some hugs and kisses from y’all.
#SmashTheHalf
Annual Passholder registration happened this week. Strangely enough the 5K sold out faster than the half event. I’m guessing there’s lots of little dudes hoping to run their first race with the help of some super heroes. I’m signing up through my running group, Team Expedition Runner, so I don’t have to sweat beating the rush this week.
You, however, need to be at your computer by noon EST/ 9am PST on Tuesday. You won’t want to miss out on this inaugural event!
Unpacking
We’re getting there. Guest room, guest bath, kitchen, family room: Check. Not a box to be found. In fact, a small tear may have leaked out when I came home Friday night and found this beauty sitting on my counter thanks to Mr. Shenanigan’s efforts while I was gone.
The first coffee in my new home was a glorious thing.
The upstairs is a bit of a mess. But it’s coming along. The boy’s room and Claire’s room is pretty much pulled together. And nope- still no pants, y’all. It’s crazy. Last night I finished unpacking our room. The closet and Master bath, however- wowza. This is going to take some time.
I’m heading up to clear a path to the closet. Wish me luck!
Are you signing up for the Avengers Half or 5K this week? If you could pick any super power to posses, what would it be?

Would love to sign up, already be signed up. Seriously bummed about missing this one, I know it will be so much fun. If I could possess any super power it would be the ability to fly. That way I wouldn’t be dependent on airfare and could #runalltheraces.
I love it- brilliant solution to all my problems too!
Could the pants still be in the old house?
I’m going to go out on a limb and say I think the Avengers race is going to take a little longer to sell out than the last few DL races. I hurried up and registered with my AP at about 10am, but a friend of mine was able to do it after 5pm. I don’t think anyone has to be stalking their computer or taking the day off from work this time. Some people are kind of irked at runDisney over a few different things lately and with two other DL races, a third one may finally lessen the Black Friday rush. At least, that’s my hope.
Superpower? Invisibility! No question. Think of the mischief you could get into!
I love the idea of invisibility too. You know where I’d go first? runDisney HQ and listen in on their decision making discussions. 😉 I don’t know, I think it’s still going to be fast. Maybe not 42 minutes fast, but I still suspect by payday Friday. We shall see!
So sorry about those crazy pants! What a great job, Mr. Shenanigan! No Avengers race for me, I can’t afford the cross country trip more than once every few years. I’m kind of meh on the Avengers theme anyways. Now fingers crossed for the Star Wars race at WDW! In April or early May would be good. I’d want the fast healing superpower like Wolverine so I could run, run, run, run and not get injured (or be paranoid about getting injured!).
Man, y’all are coming up with some excellent super powers! I love this one. ITBS would never be an issue again!
No Avengers for me.
I’d like my superhero power to be filthy stinkin’ rich so I could afford to run all the races…and I’d be able to bankroll gadgets like Bruce Wayne to mimic any other superhero powers I might need. Money may not buy you love, but it sure can buy some fun stuff.
HA! Most excellent!
OMG that finish line picture for the Avenger’s Half… would be so epic if they actually had something like that! It’ll be very interesting to see how fast those weekend races sell out. I’m thinking under an hour! I wish I could go this year, but alas, it is on my 2015 race calendar.
Sounds like you had a fun week!! Glad to hear you were able to spend some time with family!
Family is awesome. And I laughed so hard at that picture- I doubt we get explosions, but still… way cool.
Coffee is so important. What a great husband!
Glad you had fun with the family!
