13 Superstitious Reasons Why The Chiefs Win Super Bowl 59
The Big Game is just around the corner, and everyone is picking sides. Sorry, Eagles fans, but there are 13 solid indications that the Chiefs will win (again). Here are the superstitious reasons why the Chiefs win Super Bowl 59.
ps- autocorrect keeps wanting me to change “win” in the previous sentence to “won” so there’s a bonus superstition I will cling to. Autocorrect already KNOWS, y’all!

Defense Wins Championships, Especially If They Have Tayvoodoo
I may not have been a Chiefs fan for long, but I’m solidly on board with Chiefs Kingdom these days. The Kelce Bowl hooked me in, and as a life-long Cowboy fan, there’s no way I could have rooted for The Eagles. So the Chiefs became my defacto team that year, and here we are, three years later on a historic run.
Hey, maybe it’s me? Am I the good luck charm?

And this run for a Super Bowl 3-Peat is historic and certain to be heart-stopping.
But I’m not *as* worried as I might have been before learning a few of these superstitions that Chiefs can count on.
Here’s the list of 13 Reasons Why The Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl 59- not based on anything but juju and patterns we’d love to see continue. (Sorry, not sorry, Birds).

13 Superstitious Reasons Why the Chiefs Win
- Super Bowl IV re-do! Return to the location of the Chief’s very first Super Bowl (IV), including practicing at Tulane University. Let’s run it back!
- Chiefs Defensive Tackle Chris Jones looked up and saw the clock in the AFC Championship at exactly 3:33. That’s a threepeat of threes!

- Taylor Swift is a winner. She has been at more winning than losing games since dating Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce. Her winning percentage in attendance will be 87% if they win this game on Sunday, and we all know why 87 is a magic number.
- Funny Marco’s Tatoo. Chiefs mega-fan and comedian Funny Marco got a Super Bowl tattoo before the 2023 game. He posted on Instagram “So I got this Super Bowl tattoo it’s a long story on link in the bio but we got to win now !!!”. It worked, so he did it again in 2024. And 3 weeks ago, he posted the 2025 version. It’s inked in, so that means the Chiefs have to win.

- More Tattoos: The famous Champ Stamp. David Leach made a bad bet and had to get a Patrick Mahomes tramp stamp in 2019. Since then, every game he’s gone to the Chiefs have won. He will be in the Superdome this Sunday and believes a threepeat is happening.
- The Eagles can blame the Kirk Cousins Curse. No team that lost to Atlanta QB Kirk Cousins during the regular season has gone on to win the Super Bowl. Not a single one. The Eagles lost 22-21 to the Falcons on September 16th.
- Sportscaster Peter Schrager’s Super Bowl Streak. Every year since 2019, before the start of the season, Schrager picks the two teams who will face off in the Super Bowl. He also predicts the winner. He doesn’t always get the teams correct, but he is on a 5 year streak of picking the winner. On September 5, 2024, he picked Green Bay vs. Kansas City, with the Chiefs coming out on top.

- Pat Mahomes’ record in Domes: he’s a perfect 12-0. And yes, the Caesars Superdome is, well, a dome. Duh.
- Tayoodoo/Tayblessings. If you’re a Swiftie, you know some things sometimes happen around Taylor Swift that can’t be explained. We call it Tayvoodoo or Tayblessings. Usually, stuff just happens, but we all clocked her adding a little extra “something something” to the stadium back in October. When she headlined the Eras Tour at the Superdome, she made three distinct football references during the song “Midnight Rain.” One night, she mimicked Kelce’s 1st down pose. Another she mimed throwing a football. And on the other night, she threw her hands up in a touchdown. For added measure, she held up three fingers and kissed them. 3-Peat secured.

- FOX Super Bowls: The Chiefs are 2-0.
- The animals at Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa, have a strong track record of predicting the Big Game, with 11 correct picks in the last 14 years. This year Misha, a tiger at Blank Park Zoo, picked the Chiefs over the Eagles.
- Andy Reid won his 1st Super Bowl ring as an assistant coach in New Orleans. This happened in 1997 when he was the assistant coach for the Green Bay Packers.
- More New Orleans superstitions: the Kelce Brothers played in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day in 2010 as part of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. Taylor Swift also performed at the Superdome to open the NFL season that year on Sept. 9, 2010.
Travis Kelce, after winning the AFC Championship, said, “Take me back, I owe New Orleans a little something.”
