It’s no secret around here that I am on a weight loss journey.
If you’ve stuck with me through the ups and downs: ?Thank You. ?I mean that. ?I know it has to be frustrating to watch someone yo-yo, but I promise I’m not doing it on purpose!
My eventual weight loss goal is to wear my wedding dress again someday. ?It’s been hanging in my closet just as cute as the day I bought it. ?I’m dying to zip that sucker up and vacuum my house or something.
But I haven’t found the perfect weight loss?plan just yet. ?Obviously- or you’d be looking at me selfying like crazy in that dress right about now.
The good news? ?I’m down 14 pounds since July.
The bad news? ?It’s only 14 pounds, and I’ve still got quite a way to go.
There are a lot of “reasons” (ok, maybe excuses) that I can use to explain why this is such a tough process for me.
My thyroid is crapping out. ?I’m over 40. ?I have kids. It’s hard to eat healthy when you are on the go all the time. ?Blah?Blah Blah… this could fill it’s own blog.
But the fact of the matter is I’m fat.
Oh yeah, I went there.
Before people start getting upset about me using the “F Word:” I’m not going around calling anyone else fat, or even asking that people call ME fat. ?I’m just being real here. ?And maybe channeling a little of my inner Fat Amy. ?Bottom line: I’m overweight, and I know it.
I know I’m also one of those fat people that can run 13.1 miles if she needs to, so I feel my chances in a zombie apocalypse are pretty good. ?Because according to The Walking Dead, they are pretty slow.
I’m still looking for the way that will help fix my “F Word” problem. ?I’m excited to report that Jenny Craig and Walmart helped me out last week.
I’ve been at a stall for a couple of weeks and the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Starter Kit came at the right time. ?It’s?exclusive to Walmart in participating stores and can be found in the diet/weight loss aisle.
Inside the kit:
- There’s a free initial personal one-on-one consultation. ?You can attend one at any Jenny Craig center or by phone or Skype with the Jenny Craig Anywhere program. ?
- If you do join one of the Jenny Craig centers, you are also given a special $50 food savings voucher.
- But what I loved the most was the food they packed in here for me to try out. ?Let me repeat: they picked the food FOR me.
I joke that when I win the lottery I’m hiring a chef. ?Or if that falls through, I’m hoping one of my kids becomes a chef and lives next door (fingers crossed!). I need someone to just make meals for me and tell me what’s for dinner.
Jenny Craig excels in making it easy. The great tasting meal pack includes a variety of 23 meals and snacks: that’s enough for three days worth of the program.
My experience with the starter kit was good! I enjoyed most of the meals, and you can’t beat the convenience. ?The plan was easy to follow, and I added the essential fresh fruits and vegetables as suggested. ?I’m still team low-carb, and the high protein count of the meals made me very happy to see.
My favorites were the shakes (they were delightful- I grabbed those for the morning drive to school) and, of course, the anytime bars. Because those were perfect when I was waiting in the car at baseball pickup.
(Annndd…now you know the secret. ?The way to my heart is through chocolate!)
If you are curious about the Jenny Craig program, I encourage you to check out the starter pack. ?It’s ONLY at Walmart, and I think you’ll be happy with the variety and flavor this package provides. ?This fat girl has no complaints!
The real question is obvious. ?How were my results? ?I’m crazy hopeful- this program was so easy to follow! Stay tuned for weigh-in on Wednesday. ?I’ll report back and update here.
Disclosure:?I was provided a free Jenny Craig Weight Loss Starter Kit. However, the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Have you ever tried Jenny Craig? ?Are you interested in the starter kit?
