This is the Life: Animal Kingdom Villas

from The Smith Summary

During the Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend I had the chance to stay at the Animal Kingdom Villas thanks to my favorite DisBroad, Kristen.

Why is she my favorite?? Because she graciously shared her DVC points when a couple of us crazy Broads decided to fly in on Thursday rather than Friday.? That’s a true friend right there. ?

Side note- Being my favorite is a running joke between the Broads.? I love them all equally.? Unless they do something nice for me- then they get to be my favorite.? Hey, I never said I couldn’t be bought!

I’ve never stayed at the Animal Kingdom properties; I’ve only been over there one time and that was for a yummy lunch at Sanaa.? I met one of my favorite Walt Disney World friends at this lunch: the Malawi Mango Margarita.? Delish.

I easily get diverted when it comes to those margaritas!? Back on topic:? the resort.? Y’all, this one is gorgeous.? I mean, they are all pretty great at Walt Disney World, but this one takes your breath away with how detailed and serene it is.

You know I’m a commando park hopper, right?? I choose my resorts on location, location, location!? Whatever gets me to the parks the fastest usually wins out (which is why I’m a huge fan of the Polynesian and Grand Floridian).? So I’ve always turned my nose up at the Animal Kingdom Lodge because it was just simply too far away from most of the action.? I know, I know… what was I thinking?!? I mean, look at this place!

I met DisBroad Tania and we checked out the Jambo House while we waited for our room to become available.? Every cast member, every guest was smiling from ear to ear.? Who knew such happiness could be found at this oasis in the middle of a crazy theme park?? Usually you find parents stressed out, kids cranky or crying, and just a tenseness exuding mid-day at the parks.? Not here.? It was serene and lovely.

When our room was ready, I was blown away.? It’s really. Really. Reaaallllyyyy nice.? Roomy and comfortable and included a small kitchenette.? Four ladies sharing one hotel room can often be quite the challenge!? But I knew we were going to be just fine in our Jambo House room.

While all this was amazing, the true treat was the view. DisBroad Kristen hooked the sisters up!We had a deluxe studio with savannah view and it was amazing.? I think we all wanted to just sit on the balcony and take pictures!

DisBroads Bonnie, Julie and Tania ate breakfast at Boma on Friday morning.? I went to the expo early to get some Sparkle Skirts pictures taken before the place became crazy!? Bonnie wrote a quick review for me about Boma and I’ll be posting that for you tomorrow!? Be sure to check it out so you’ll know if it’s worth $18.99.

Have you stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?? What did you think?? How about Boma?

  1. That is one resort we haven’t been to yet. We were actually debating between that one and the Poly for our next trip, the Poly won! I wouldn’t mind going over just for a visit though ( maybe to eat at Boma)!
