Throwback Thursday LIVE on the Periscope App

Throwback Thursday LIVE on the Periscope App

ETA: I learned something new today! ?Periscope- save- upload to YouTube. ?BOOM. ?I lost the comments and hearts so it looks like I’m talking to myself (working on fixing that one) but this is taken from the live broadcast this morning.

Yesterday on Facebook I made a comment about Periscope and had a few people ask… waaaaahhh?

Don’t worry: you aren’t alone!

It’s a relatively new social media outlet that allows live streaming of video. ?It’s a cheap (ie, FREE!) way to connect visually and have live chats with friends, community, and family.

I’ve played around with the app while onsite at Walt Disney World and Disneyland and loved the instant interaction with an audience. ?I haven’t used it often, however, because despite what my husband says, I do NOT live at Disney!

I’m going to start doing a Periscope a Day as an experiment and see where this might lead.

I love the idea, just not sure I love the execution- especially since it involves me chattering on!

Where do you come in? ?JOIN ME! ?I’m going live around 8:30am PT/11:30am ET.?

Download the app (it’s Periscope on iOS and Android and again- it’s FREE!) and then follow me @longhorns2 ?(I use my Twitter handle there).

While I will be the only person talking, you are encouraged to type in questions, comments, and be part of the discussion. ?Periscope works best when we are talking about something interesting to everyone.

Today we are starting with a #TBT topic: ?Disney, of course! ?I’ve had a post marinating for a bit, and instead of writing it out, I’m just going to tell you the story via Periscope.

Hope you’ll join me!

Do you have any experience with Periscope? ?What do you think about live video chats?
