Who’s going with me to New Orleans in March?? I’m training with my husband for the Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans 5K – and couldn’t be more excited.? I’m also pumped to share the medal preview, and the news that The Soul Rebels will be performing at the Finish Line Festival this year!!

Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans 5K: The Weekend
In my quest to do more races in 2018, I decided to join up with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Race Series.? Looking at the lineup of races, I want to do them *ALL* but I know that’s just not in the cards.
New Orleans was a top contender – but I knew it would be a hard sell to convince my husband it was worth it.
Then, those cards just started to fall into place…
My parents offered to watch our kids. (!!!!!!)
Then my Dad hooked us up with some Hilton Honor Points for a room.
And my hubby agreed to run the 5K with me.? (even more !!!!!!!!)
Finally, we realized, it’s not too bad of a drive from Dallas.
So New Orleans – HERE WE COME!

Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans 5K: Check Out These Medals!
One of the other reasons I am particularly excited about this race – I’m NOT running the half marathon or the full marathon.
Which, sadly, means I won’t be getting either of these beauties:
I am “just” doing the 5K and the 10K – which means that my mister and I can enjoy ourselves just a little bit more – since I don’t have to worry too much about resting my legs or getting enough sleep.
We can have a little bit more fun since I’ll be running a little less mileage than usual.
And, honestly, the 10K medal is my favorite of the series!
I haven’t seen a medal preview for the 5K, yet, but hope it’s designed similar to the ones we’ve seen.
The 5K from RnR Arizona was awesome, so I am sure it will not disappoint!
I’m ALSO very excited to finish the 10K and then going to cheer on the runners for the half and the full which is something I have always wanted to do!
I’m already brainstorming some good sign ideas.
Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans 5K: The Soul Rebels
One of the main reasons for this post is to fill you in on some details for the after party.? Which is almost more exciting than the bling.
Almost.
The Soul Rebels will be performing at the Finish Line Festival in 2018 – an eight-piece brass ensemble blending funk and soul and jazz and hip hop and rock and I could go on and on and on…
Guys, they are FUN.
Check this out!
So – Who’s in?!?!

I’ll be there! Running my 7th RnR NOLA race…doing the half this time around although I am considering the 5K for an extra medal since we will be staying all weekend! This really is a great event! Have so much fun!
You’re coming to my city! I’ll be running the half (my first!!) and can’t wait to see all the signs! The crowd support is going to be awesome. I’ll pay for a round of beignets if you yell for me around mile 8 (where I start to drag)!
