Why I Travel to Disney (Again and Again and Again)
I’m in California, dropping my kids off with my sister and getting ready to travel to Disneyland for the D23 Expo. Yes, I am leaving them here, and no, they really do not care.
The kids are not even remotely sad about not coming with me. They are at Camp Aunt Karen’s!
Trust me: it’s better than Disneyland to them.
They have cousins, they have a swing set and a trampoline, they have beautiful northern California weather, and they have an Auntie who just adores them all.
Mickey is still cool in their eyes, but family is just a bit better- and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
As for me, this trip is mostly a working trip since my blog covers travel (check!), Disney Parks (check!) and entertainment (check!). D23 Expo certainly combines all of the above!
The bonus is seeing a ton of like-minded Disney-loving friends from across the country in one place. I cannot wait to see you all!
I’ve been thinking about this trip specifically a lot and keep coming back to the question of why Disney doesn’t get “old” to me. It’s where my brain goes first whenever someone suggests a trip, and it’s where my money seems to find a comfortable home. Ahem.
I get asked the question “Why Disney?” a lot.
And my first response answer always wants to be “Because EVERYTHING!” I mean, duh.
But I’ll see if I can narrow it down a little bit.
Why I Travel to Disney (Again and Again and Again)
It’s the plotting, the planning
The FastPass collecting.
It’s the Advanced Dining Reservation creating
It’s the resort picking,
The “Oh look, there’s Carissa!” sighting.
It’s the first steps on Main Street
It’s the Mickey Bar eating
It’s the thrill of the climb
and the splash of the Splashing!
It’s the Dapper Dan’s singing.
It’s the 999 ghost counting
It’s the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique-ing
It’s the parade dancing
It’s the mid-day napping,
It’s the Cast Member’s smiling,
It’s the small world singing.
It’s the Princesses we meet,
It’s the Rock ‘N Roller Rolling
It’s the Yeti dodging
And of all of these things, at the end of the day, it’s Dumbo and Tinker Bell flying
It’s fireworks exploding
And it’s the castle changing as we kiss it goodnight.
How about you? Why do you travel to Disney?

Disneyland is a great and amazing fairy tale for children! I wish to visit it with my son. I live in Russia and we have an excellent family park in Sochi! I was there last year. It is a Sochi Park. You are always welcome to visit it!
